Actually, everyone's been having a nice two way discussion since you left.

The OP has solved one issue. No one has yet put forward a serious scientific solution for the footsteps that I'm aware of. We've had a bit of a chortle over some videos and it's all been most civilised.

I'm sure it will deteriorate rapidly once more now you're back with nothing to add but to try and stir up trouble and stifle debate. biggrin

You shouldn't, because I think it's not a winner.

Did we ever hear why the mixer ended up being thrown through a window?

Turned out a girl attending the local fireworks display broke it. She was found out and the parents paid the bill. It's the window for the pantry and the mixer was already there, unsurprisingly judge

So foot steps are the big remaining issue?

Funnily, I heard some little running footsteps a couple of nights ago but the children were asleep and I've not yet worked out what could have caused it.

That's the one. I'm still trying to sort out an explanation.

Should be here:

Seems hard to link... as it's not found there either.

?

It's fiction. Quite obviously. Nicely done and a bit of an extended CV for an aspiring writer, I suspect. But it's not meant to be real.

Did you believe that the Blair Witch project really was lost documentary footage as well?

The footsteps thing, I think I mentioned this earlier in the thread, apologies if so.

In my previous house, I went to bed one morning after finishing a night shift. I had left my dog shut in the dining room downstairs while I did this. I awoke at 10am and lay there trying to get back off to sleep again, when I heard the slow padding of a dog climbing the stairs, then walking across the landing and sniffing around the door. The door just pushed open, there was no latch as such, so after wondering how my dog had got out of the dining room, I called him, but nothing. I thought this was strange as he usually just barged in. Instead, I heard him slump against the wall on the landing and exhale/sigh as dogs do when they lie down to rest/sleep.

"Sod you then" I thought, and went back to sleep. I awoke again a couple of hours later and went out onto the landing, expecting him to be there, but he wasn't. I went downstairs, and there he was, still shut in the dining room.

I bought that house off my mate. When he owned it, his wife was in hospital, having their first child at one point. He had been at the hospital most of the night, but came home for some kip. He was awoken at 10am by the sound of adult human footsteps climbing the stairs, then walking across the landing to the bedroom door and stopping. He was stting himself at this point. He yelled out asking who there, but got no answer. He then jumped out of bed and opened the door, no one there.

He only told me about this after I had told him what I had experienced. I used the same room as them as my bedroom.

Yes, there are angles to take on this, with fatigue issues etc. But I find the similarities interesting (cue a snooty comment from someone).

My mate used to be a total sceptic, but I think he had a few other experiences there too which he couldn't explain, which has made him reconcider.

Are you not satisfied yet that you have told everyone nothing to see here?

My guess would be suggestion. Although asleep, our senses are still paying attention. You can have fun with someone who's asleep by taking about a big, red ball and you'll most likely find that person remembering a big, red ball in their dream. There's a proper term for it which escapes me at the moment.

If someone in that state heard the same series of noises, they could have very similar dreams, which is certainly sounds like a possibility in this case.

I was awake though. The incident my mate had happened a few years before, but he didn't tell me about it until I had mine.
