It feels odd to admit - but I was actually a DJ in France in the early 80's. God knows why.... anyway, I've said it now.

The nightclub owner INSISTED that every 7th record should be a Johnny Halliday record. Jebus! It was utter rubbish - the early 80's, whilst sounding dated now, was a brilliant time for disco music - and then the vibe that was built had to killed by Johnny Halliday. So I actually hated him. Properly.

Sad he's gone. But hated him too.

Yes, but some of them were good copycats, Halliday was dire.
