Cant wait for all the "is this still available " messages and people sending their uncles dog who wants to pay by pigeon from Pakistan.
I am working off shore at the moment so I can't get to you.Cant wait for all the "is this still available " messages and people sending their uncles dog who wants to pay by pigeon from Pakistan.
I will send an Anyvan courier to you with cash in an envelope for you.
Opps, You need to pay the admin of £25 to the link below,
Don't worry, I will add the £25 to the cash in the envelope.
I'm selling Thule aeorbars, the whole assembly needed for a Abarth 595. It works amazingly and transforms a 595 for practicality. Obviously a very narrow market and I'd dropped my price down. Someone is interested and said £80. If it'd that niche and you need it your not going to let if go to argue over £20 extra are you....

For all it's faults and time wasters, where else can you off load stuff these days?
I used to use Tarde-It but all that got me was email scams directly to my in box.
Marketplace, in my experience is a great way of selling on things.I used to use Tarde-It but all that got me was email scams directly to my in box.
Over the past couple of months I offloaded almost a full house worth of furniture to various buyers, bringing in almost 2k. That is despite being told on PH that they would guarantee that non of the furniture would be sold.
I’d say that 70% of the messages I got were from decent serious buyers and never had any quibbling or problems when people came to collect the items.
Seperate to that I sold the mother in laws 2009 Suzuki Swift in under a week to the first person that came to see it, with only £50 being knocked off the asking price.
My only experience of Marketplace was pathetic, never contacted by anyone genuine, they were all scammers and the item was quickly removed
I would rather pay a little to ensure you get rid of these idiots who are just out to scam people. It was a shambolic thing I shall never do again. I think in certain locations it can work but near towns and cities full of people on low incomes and "other things" it is woeful.
Every person that contacted me was non English, I can point that out I hope.

I've listed a gas camping stove and someone has sent an offer which I accepted.
Now just silence.
I've asked a few times when they would like to collect, they've read it and just ignored.
Vaguely similarly, I saw a bag of CDs on one of the local free groups, so I got it. After my post, someone else asked if it was still available. After I'd got the bag of CDs, I had a look through, took out the ones I wanted and sent a message to that person offering them the rest. Got a response of "oh, thanks", so sent the address to collect, and then nothing. Two or three days later I asked if she still wanted them, to get "I've been on a 12 HOUR SHIFT" back, which explains 12 of the 36 hours I guess. Gave them to someone else, deleted the message with my address in it. Irritating when you can't even give stuff away to someone who has said they want it. At least I protected the original giver from the time-waster.Now just silence.

I had my car up on facebook marketplace recently. Got a few decent inquiries but my goodness, the absolute drivel I received. It was a 10 year old BMW X6 with 142k miles on it for £8k. One particular person was going on about the lack of warranty, hence the lowball price. I just sent him a link to the BMW approved used cars and politely told him to up his budget by £30k and he'll get a good BMW warranty.
Some other lowballers, I just sent them links to Dacia's for sale etc, and told them they would get a half decent one for their £5k. Then you get the ones saying 'immediate cash payment'. To which I would reply that there was an error in the ad, and I didn't actually want £8k for it, I would ideally prefer Bitcoin and I wasn't accepting £sterling at this time. I mean, if the car is for sale, you need money to pay for it. People offering 'immediate cash' as if that would separate them from the other potential buyers, who were presumably going to pay for it in monthly instalments or something? The mind boggles.

I sold a Rolex a few years ago and had various complete fkmuppets sending endless messages imploring me to accept monthly payments. How nicotine clogged so you think this projector is, look at the ceiling and blinds

I've always found those "immediate cash" ones weird. Similar to the ones you get that way "cash waiting". As if they'll stand out amongst the sea of magic bean purveyors. I leave work on Friday and will no longer be working from home, so don't need my 34" Ultrawide. Listed it for £150 collection only from Leeds
Within 10 minutes.
"I'll give you £80, I'm in Birmingham so will cost me £50 in fuel. If we can agree a deal I'll set off now"
Didn't even waste my time with a reply, just blocked them!
