Whatever storm is looming, my part of west London has missed it, big stormy clouds but only accompanied by spits of rain and quiet rumbles of thunder. I want my money back.

3:30, about 30 mins west of Southwold. Just some high, wispy clouds.

Interesting. Mrs B's at our house in Richmond, SW. She sent me a photo 45 mins ago of it teeming down.

The difference a few miles makes! frown Thunder completely gone now but there's cloud cover, so not being heated by the sun for now. Maybe it's taking it's time.

Still in brilliant sunshine at 38c but huge towers looming very close here (Maidenhead) and very powerful booming thunder. The radar put the tower to the East of Slough but it looks like it is on us now.

The next half hour or so is hopefully going to be quite special.
38? st! 28° here and I'm melting!

That's his garden thermometer. Officially more like 34 today, but it's been 6 days of this.

Finally these nearby storms are bringing a breeze and pegging back the heat by a notch

Crikey we’ve just had 45 mins of properly extreme weather.
Lots of thunder and heavy rain which stopped after 10 mins or so, a break for 10 mins and then all hell broke loose! Super windy with rain like I’ve never seen. It really did look like the video of tropical storms.

We’re in West Byfleet , Surrey.

Just stood out in the rain - it was a couple of degrees above zero (the water). Freezing!

Some absolutely massive towers above Oxford.

Had a friend on FB post a video of some bonkers rain.

Still patiently waiting here with dark clouds and thunder... wind has just picked up so I’m hopeful...

That's still pretty unbearable!

Nice breeze on the coast, plus some cold water to jump into. The kids gave up camping in the garden last night about 10.30 as it was too hot. hehe

Aylesbury has been absolutely hammered with rain and hail the past 25 minutes, and the majority of that looked like driving would have been tricky to see much.

Some almighty thunder tooyikes
