I actually had a good experience with FB marketplace yesterday. My wife spotted a Land Rover branded dog bed, new with tag still on it, for £40 (£75 from LR). Quick exchange of messages, we didn't bother haggling, as it was a bargain anyway. Five minute drive to pick it up, money exchanged and it was exactly as described, in fact it was still in the plastic bag. Just need to persuade our dog to use it now laugh

What's wrong with that? It's free. It's a potty. Handy for example, for grandparents to save their children bringing another thing on holiday, etc.

Can be sterilised in minutes. Avoids plastic waste. etc

Sorry I'm not seeing the issue with a free potty either?.

Had one lately (on eBay I admit, but it surely qualifies)

Selling a large, bulky, fragile item. I've made it clear in the advert that I'm not posting it, because a) it would cost a fortune and b) it would get damaged. Last week, get a "buyer"...

First off, get a stupendous lowball offer, so just ignored that.

Next, a message asking for a "best price" - Yeah, I know, I should ignore that too, but like a fool I gave hiim a price. Cheapest in the UK for the item, but they have to collect.

Finally, get a message asking for a postcode so he can get courer quotes.

Just fk off you bellend. It's cheap because I won't take the hassle and expense of shipping via pallet, the certainty of damage, and winding up with a refund too. If I was prepared to deal with that it would cost twice as much.

If the dog refuses to sit on it, just cover the land rover badge.

Has the potty post been deleted? Can't see what these replies are referring to.

There aren't any actual LR badges on it. It part of their (overpriced) HUE 166 range, so just has that on it tongue out

Won't bother with the pics for this one:

Mg migit roadster. Very good condition, no bad rust, engine completely rebuild, roll bar, ready to rally if you want to. Loads of recipes, brand new wheels and tyres, if you want more info then please let me know will consider swaps for mpv or estate

Wonder what you can cook with a Migit?

Yep whomever posted it just before our replies decided to remove their post. It was a clean plastic potty sat on the bottom step of the sellers staircase, it didn't even have a turd still in it so not really meritable for inclusion in this thread & rightly called out on it lol.

I listed a racing sim wheel/pedals/seat for £200.
Some chavvy looking prick offered £75 right off the bat. I tap decline.
£85 now. Decline.
£90, and I was walking my dog at the time, so I just replied with a photo of my dog taking a st.

Someone collected later that day for £200.

It can be very useful, but the level of dross you have to filter through sometimes is infuriating.

Since selling my E36 I've been half looking for a replacement even though the wife has said we have 3 cars already which is enough smile

Anyway I would love another MK2 GTI but they have gone silly expensive even for a shed.

Anyway a red 5 door turned up a few weeks ago, exactly same as one I had years ago.
None runner but looked solid with decent interior etc..

That would be nice to put into the garage until I had the time to get it back onto the road when I semi retire in 2-3 years.

Price was cheap but I thought why not just message.
Profile seemed legit but links to businesses etc..

Messaged maybe 3-4 times over 2 weeks, no reply.
It then went up £750, still cheap, I messaged again, no answer.
Now down at the original price, messaged again, that was 2 days ago and no answer.

Seller has a few other things for sale, only thing suspect is their locations are slightly different. All within 20 miles but that may just be how the seller enters their location.

I suspect he has had too many messages to answer them all, has had lots of timewasters but why lower the price? It must have sold by now unless it didn't exist in the first place.
Is there any way to Google search the photos?

Yes.

https://www.google.com/imghp?hl=en

And click on the camera icon on the right hand side.

Alternatively if you use chrome on a desktop you can rightclick on the image and search for the image.

I've made a few enquiries on things. One was selling escort car panels and I need a few so would have bought them. No reply whatsoever. Ended up buying them online.

There seems to be a lot of folk on FB who don't receive messages, legit ones etc. Don't know if it's a glitch, or there's something switched off.

For some reason all marketplace comments/questions on my account go straight into an archived chat folder. Tried to change it but gave up - poss the same/similar issue.
