Bloody knackered and it is only Monday, racked up 21 hours of overtime in the last week, with lots more to come this week too, I really need a rest!

Not many around now, sadly. Here's an old fiddle I found:

And I had another postcard from Fiddler McTavish at the weekend:

Is it King George? The Monarch owns the tidal margin so just wondering if you missed the '52 coronation

Appears I was right to be trepidatious about the MOT. Seems the only thing holding on the trailing arm knuckles currently is rust irked . Oh, and the exhaust rubbers are perished rolleyes Oddly, though he noticed the rubbers, he didn't notice that this meant the exhaust has been knocking against the Watts link crossbar and worn through. whistle

Oh well, there's really only one solution to this. And it invlives Bombay Spapphire drunk

Everyone, meet one of the Senior Members; Chim.

I'll check, but I think he may be one of the hallowed Page 1 Crew.

Full Metal Jacket was filmed near me. Went there in the jeep and had a mosey around - there's a complete full size Iraqi stockade and checkpoint there complete with zig zag accesses, caissons to 5m high all round and sand (!) all used for exercises.

and....

..... the old peri track and hardstandings partly overgrown. One is a bit less overgrown and was for this very aeroplane in WW2:

It's awesome to stand there at the disused back of the old airfield and think back to what it must have been like there in 1943. There's a field next to the hardstanding so just like the pre takeoff scene with the farmer etc. So much history. The full crew signed the wall in The Eagle in Cambridge and also The Swan in Lavenham. Also the ceiling in one of our local pubs but it's been painted over.
