Got home from hospital yesterday and crazily decided to get out on the bike (a pedal bike as I'm medically banned now for possibly two years from driving or riding anything with an engine).

I came to no harm, and it felt good to be out in the open.

As for today, it has been quite nice out and might go out again on the bike before dark.

Thank you all for the concern.

Glad to hear you’re well Colin. The heat coming to an end is welcome relief I’m sure. smile

Welcome home Colin thumbup

I'm thinking of getting a Zwift setup for the dark dank days - maybe something you can look in to too smile

Is it just me or is it particularly changeable at the moment? Even the met office don't seem to know what's coming even the next day.

Hose attached, pool draining.

Next job, locate sledges and skiing gear.

Hurricane season is really confusing the models. I did mention this wink

We're also in a weather crossroads. We're not under the direct influence of either high or low, but as they wax and wane around us we can be on the edge of either.

Increasing signs of a cool spell towards the end of the month. I'm off to France in the start of Oct for a week of gardening, I would like it to be nice!

Some forecasts pointing at snow on top of the Cairngorms this time next week, and we all know what that means!

Nah, I'd prefer to get outside in the dark and rain. Bike lights are really quite good these days. The only thing that stops me is snow and ice.

1,728 miles covered so far this year, and I'd really like to get to my 2,000 mile year target. However, the imminent house move and need to rest up for a while may put that in jeopardy. I cannot wait to get up into the Peak District on the bike though.

Back on topic - East Berks - Indian Summer, sun is out (boo) but it is a pleasant 23c. It has been like this more or less since I escaped from hospital.

I don't care how ill you've been, it's still not an Indian Summer unless we've had a frost.

33c today in Colorado. Fortunately the temperatures are starting to fluctuate; we've had a day before 20c already, and a couple more are forecast. No sign of a frost in the next 10 days, though.

Might get to the end of the month before decommissioning the sprinklers for the year.

The nights are certainly getting cold. Down to 6'c here on the Pennines last night, I could see my breath.
Not a cloud still to be seen means a lovely day though.

Yep, a light frost on the car here in Aberdeenshire at first light this morning and snow forecast on the hills later this week.

Absolutely beautiful day now but the leaves are dropping fast!
