No - but I ordered my money box on the 19th Nov and it arrived 2 days ago.

Everything I have ordered ( of little value ) from China has just arrived in dribs and drabs but has all arrived.

All my RC stuff and SJcam I ordered from Europe, also you earn points through purchases and then you can get further discounts. IMO a great site and amazing value.

What happens if you order from the USA or China warehouses on GearBest? Do you get slapped with a bill from HMRC when the delivery person arrives at your door?

Amazing prices and it just highlights what a rip off Go pro/apple etc are.

On gear best you can buy smart watches for £15! Ok they may not be as good as an Apple watch, but £15 vs £400 is a big difference

Also got an SJcam4000 ( go pro) it is brilliant, all for £30
Tempted by one of these, are they not utterly rubbish at that price?
I bought two for a project at work six months ago - they're so bloody good I asked the missus to get me one for Christmas.

It's staggering how they can make a 1080p camera, with all the mounts/cases/etc. and ship it for that price. The WiFi one is also pretty cool.
This seems like a genuine seller?

If only it had an external mic, would make for a great little camera to record external footage on a drive.

Blimey, having just shelled out £85 for an entry-level GoPro Hero (in the US, hence comparative cheapness), it's very tempting to get one of these to do multi-camera trackday shots and the like. A quick browse of some YouTube footage makes it rather compelling!

As someone who likes to keep his old cars as original as possible, I always refuse to replace the original head unit. This means that I'm destined for a life of tape decks.

Up until now I've had to resort to the 'cassette aux', you know the things; they look like a cassette with a massive wire hanging out of it. Not particularly glamorous, but it does the job.

UNTIL NOW! I found this when mindlessly browsing car accessories, and I ordered it immediately. A BLUETOOTH CASSETTE! biggrin

(borrowed photo, but identical)

http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/ion-in-car-bluetooth-cas...

First impressions are; sound quality is good, maybe better than a normal tape aux, although that might just be in my head. Also, it seems a bit light and flimsy for a £30 unit

It also has a built in mic for phone calls, but I'm not sure I receive enough calls when I'm driving to actually make use of this feature

Not sure I can really justify spending £30 for the sake of not having a cable dangling out of the stereo, especially seeing as I then have to carry around the charger for it, and an standard cassette aux cable for when it does run out of battery. But I think it's worth it just so I can tell people my old Volvo stereo with buttons falling off it has Bluetooth biggrin

Yep, it's ace. Cheap, tacky, but brilliant.
It works just well enough that I didn't punt it straight in the bin; I initially thought it was broken as the paw comes out to get the coin and then pauses for several deathless seconds, long enough that you think it's fked and you've wasted £8 buying it, then it lurches back into action and takes the filthy lucre. It's so awful I'm almost ashamed of giving it to my panda-hating sibling. Almost. hehe Does anyone know what it's supposed to be saying when it squawks at you?

That's a fail. They ought to have built a charger into the tape case, driven by the head unit's spindle turning - like those wind up torches. Never need to charge it, then.

That would be brilliant.

But I doubt they'd be able to fit a unit capable of doing that inside the cassette.

I feel irrational annoyance at the makers not fitting a generator/charger driven by the tape drive sprockets. hehe All we need now is an 8 track version for that 70s look. scratchchin

And annoyingly, it doesn't know to power itself off when the stereo is off, so it has to be ejected and switched off with the little switch whenever I'm not using it

Well that's just lame. At the very least it could sense when the tape is "playing" and when it isn't, and switch itself on and off accordingly.

With GearBest, I never got my Smart Watch. Yodel nicked it, and it took me about 3 months to eventually get a full refund. GearBest gave me a partial refund as I hadn't paid for their insurance, so I then raised a dispute with PayPal for the balance.

I won't use GearBest again, but might give BangGood a go. They also have an "Adult Toy" section which makes Ann Summers look like a right rip off.

PayPal all the way though.

They would easily. I 'invented' such a device some years back but never bothered to pursue the idea.

I had a motorbike, which needed a £500 service. Which I get a 20% discount on if I get it sorted in January. The back brake really needed a full strip down too. £200, tops. The starter button could've probably done with replacing as well. £100ish.

So my obvious man maths meant that instead of spending at most £700 getting my current (paid for) bike sorted, I'd be much better off spending £9,500 on a new (to me) one... I mean, it's not like it's just above freezing, with the potential;94 some snow, is it? Although the new bike does have heated grips and a heated seat. So that's a win, really.

My 1920x1200 secondary monitor in my 2 screen PC setup went bang (literally) last week.

Rather than replace like-for-like, I've just bought an ultra-wide 3440x1440 monitor and am demoting my 2560x1440 primary monitor to the role of secondary.

Because I have more money than sense and I'm single. biggrin

I've been looking at a thermal camera;

http://www.flir.com/flirone/content/?id=62910

But whilst it's very appealing just for the fun factor I can't think of many uses for it beyond car stuff, house insulation and possibly for cooking. And for £200 it ends up being a very expensive toy.

Anyone got or tried one?

Yeah we have them at work only much much more expensive ones. best use is a grown up version of hide and seek. Worst is going somewhere remote (jungle is a good one) and freaking out when you see weird animals and st
