If you look at one of the other photos (above), they haven't been finished properly and what is that on the heel? It looks like someone peed on them before photographing them. All of this in addition to the design being hilarious and only congruous in a clown's outfitters.

I don't think the shoes are quite as bad as So makes out but I don't think they will work very well with "smart casual (wool trousers / chinos)".

Chunky derbies can look good but I think the brogue makes these look too busy. You've got the funky sole or the broguing, not both at the same time. They'd probably look better with a plain upper.
