How else would you describe that mindset though? It's like ultimate PC coupled with SJW. Woke seems to be the quickest most descriptive way of portraying that.Used by idiots

It's not about arguing the points being made it's about gender neutral changing rooms, Halifax putting Mr/Mrs/Miss or whatever on name tags. Neither are necessary. But it keeps a minority happy and the majority roll their eyes.

I'm not disagreeing. I'm just at a loss how else to describe the situation where something is such that it mustn't offend anyone at all. It is largely an impossible situation anyway. Because it is impossible to not upset someone.

In certain vocal quarters 'woke' has lost even that (ill-defined and inaccurate) meaning. Now it means 'stuff - especially change - I don't like'.It's not about arguing the points being made it's about gender neutral changing rooms, Halifax putting Mr/Mrs/Miss or whatever on name tags. Like this recent example from...you know where:

Apparently builders are now Woke because they talk about emotions and mental health with their workmates, don't eat cooked breakfasts and have intellectual hobbies.
As for words I'm sick of hearing (more accurately, seeing):
'Luxury', 'Vibrant' and 'Community' when applied to residential developments. There has been a surge of brownfield development in my city (which is good) but for all the bland buzzwords they've all resulted in characterless, identikit boxes with greyscale cladding panels, stainless steel balconies and sad little grass patches the size of a bath towel containing one birch tree struggling to grow. Not luxurious, no sense of vibrancy and no community.
The one development that had resulted in a distinctive, well-designed, attractive and diverse place to live didn't use any of these terms to describe itself.

What's SJW or should I just use Google?
Social Justice Warrior Hypothetical example: You see kids in the street vandalising stuff or kicking fluffy rabbits. Does stepping in and doing something about it make you woke/SJW? As has been said already a lot of the time "woke" or "SJW" is just good manners or behaviour.

No, by the time you are thirsty you are already dehydrated, but "drink water regularly" would be better.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
