Woken up at 02.30 by sounds that I can only equate to being in a tumble drier! Looked out of the window and no visible damage - surprised at that.

Models continue to point towards a Scandinavian High, easterly winds arrive around Sunday and then a proper Scandi high forms later in the week (the high is much closer to UK before then).

The Scandi high, beast from the East, setup is the most troublesome to forecast and can disappear at close range. So apologies it it does happen, but we have broad alignment across the models.
Scandinavian models often so much better than other nationalities.......

It’s still a long way off though. Perhaps better to observe that there is a chance we may see proper cold sometime next week, than to forecast it with a pre-packed apology...?

Yes, 4.94mtrs at HW here, air pressure not even very low. Tomorrow's prediction higher, so likely be some flooding.
5.14mtrs, think that's probably it.

Because a few years back there was a 'nailed on' easterly showing. All the models predicted it. With just a couple of days to go, and in the normally reliable time frame, it vanished.

Parrot for Puggit....?

We're nowhere near the "reliable timeframe" - which may be as short as 72 hours for an Easterly given we haven't seen a proper one since 1999. And I don't think we can see more than ephemeral cross-model agreement. At present I wouldn't say that there is anything more than a chance of some colder weather next week. If all the major models are showing a well positioned high by this time on Friday I'll up my excitement level..!

We have spent The holidays in Galway with family

The last couple of days have been wild to say the least

The wife, mother and sister were caught in the city centre when the sea came over the wall !

We were due to come back yesterday on the ferry ... we are still stuck here and hopefully will get out later today

Wife’s sister is supposed to be flying home to NY today from Shannon

Her flight is already delayed and is looking in doubt

It’s apparently -25 over there with 10” of snow expected today

A few years ago when driving to work, I heard a weird sound like sand being thrown at my windshield and saw tiny specks flying around.

Sleet.

I lived 1 hr north of Tampa!

My Netweather forecast gives me about a 15% chance of snow on Sunday, looks like its gonna rain hard so guessing just need it to be cold enough

Very strong gusts hitting North Reading now.

Nothing breaking but it’s strong wind.
No doubt some silly poster will show his cheap white plastic garden seat tipped over by himself and a cheeky selfie.
