I've been asked to join the Freemasons

Why was your first contact with West Bridgford Lodge and not the Greater Notts. Lodge? If you have a connection to it, go with it. Whilst I can see why you would be attracted to head to the one with more younger people, West Bridgford will be left in a catch-22 situation, as they'll perhaps not attract younger people unless people like you join them. You can always visit the other lodge and, in turn, encourage them to visit you. Win-win.
My Girlfriend is a member there and that's how I got the connection. I didn't contact them ever since, although I feel ready now, maybe I should take the step ETA
Thanks for the advice, appreciate it
I have been a Freemason for the last 28 years and it has been a great part of my life.
I have met the most wonderful people, made lifelong friendships,I hope I have helped a lot of people who are less fortunate than me and I hope I've developed as a person and most of all .. I've had a lot of fun.
Good luck to any new members and a sincere greeting of friendship to all PH brethren.

If any of you are ever in Bermuda on holiday, and would like to visit the lodge then my uncle is a member.
I was fortunate to be allowed in even though I am not a member, and they have some quite fascinating books and pictures.
Just PM me, I will put you in touch with him, he would more than happily make sure your visit is worth while and enjoyable.
Now I just have to find out how to become a member in the UK, I was inspired whilst out there.

Suddenly it's looking more appealing........... still not a member. I was fortunate to be allowed in even though I am not a member, and they have some quite fascinating books and pictures.

Well, there was a letter dropped through my door on Saturday morning.
I've been offered Provincial honours. Past Provincial Grand Steward, and in our province, the Stewards are all active, despite the Past nomenclature.
Surprised to be offered it so quickly, but I shall be humbly accepting.

I think you will find it's Provincial Grand Steward. It becomes Past after you have finished being active. Well done in any case.I've been offered Provincial honours. Past Provincial Grand Steward, and in our province, the Stewards are all active, despite the Past nomenclature.

Thanks for the well done, but the letter is very clear; it's Past.I don't know why Durham does it this way, but it does.
I've now received a separate invitation from the secretary of the PGS Lodge inviting me to a pre-meeting, should I accept the honour. If the opportunity arises, I shall ask.
5 part tv series starts on Sky 1 on Monday evening, 8pm. Will be interesting to see how far they go and how much they reveal.
