My 15 month old has never slept through. Some babies just don't read the manuals hah.

There's nothing you can really do about it, just work as a team. Me and the OH take it in shifts, So I do until 2 am and she does the rest of the morning.
Likewise our 2 (3 next month) year old rarely sleeps through, and to add to the mix we’ve trying to wean him off his dummy. So we’re expecting fun times and very little sleep ahead, ready for no.2 arriving in March!

Never thought I'd be checking into this thread, After 10 years together and both being undecided (me more towards never having any) my partner has just given me the news - It's happening!!

I'm in complete shock now - I'm sure everyone in our family will be too!

I just can't imagine being a dad yikes

no one can imagine it, but once it happens you won't be able to imagine not being. Myself and Mrs 2CV were always undecided but it scares me the idea that we could have had a chance of not doing it... saying that we are glad we did doesn't quite explain it.

amazing isn't it?! They get hiccups too. Used to enjoy lying with my Mrs' belly in my back as we were in bed so i could feel all the squirms and wriggles whilst she was asleep!

You don’t have to justify being the little spoon wink

Also fun to see what you can do to get it to kick, and what it ‘reacts’ to. Our last one was Queen (music not her maj) and The Hungry Caterpillar. Still working it out for this one although our now 2yo shouting seems to do it!

Talking of getting reactions, junior PG (currently asleep on my chest) was reasonably active whilst still inside, however one day I needed Mrs PG to stand on a large splashback as I was cutting it by hand. The vibrations must have tickled, as she kicked and punched to the extent of Mrs PG having to sit and wait it out.

Well it's starting to hit home that next April, so long as all goes as planned, I shall be a dad! Never thought I would be saying that, not just general shall we shan't we but oh had some problems with ovarian cysts and other general stuff (won't go into it here).

Anyway in the cinema this evening watching bohemian rhapsody, got to the live aid scene, and she leans over with a smirk and sais 'Well ether we have a little rocker in the making or Queen has woken it up because I've just felt it move for the first time'!

My wife was on the train the first time our baby kicked and punched. She was listening to music too.

Yep. That us too - middle of March.

I must be honest, I find the scans fascinating - we saw her heart valves doing their thing last week. I just don’t get the big deal about this thing moving about if my wife’s belly. Just doesn’t do much for me.

Our babies due date is tomorrow.
Wife had been pretty active until 2 days ago, some discharge known as the ‘show’ and since then has been very lethargic and is having cramps which indicate the initial stages of labour.

So we are in limbo but relaxing and not jumping the gun.

The problem is, each person you speak to has a difference experience of early, on due date and late to 2 weeks post due date.

Anyway, nothing to worry about but part of me wants the baby to just get here now and the other part wants to relish the calm time before the storm.

Anyway, bags packed, car seat at the ready and a full tank of fuel for the hospital trip !
I 100% want some sort of celebratory dance video...

Waiting is all you can do - every one of the buggers is different.

Yep me too.

Wife after our first one, "you didn't cry when you saw the scan".. I was too interested in it, and the technology to do it laugh

We've had growth scans later on at 28, 32 and 35.. Interesting to see the different measurements and how they take them etc.

Congratulations to all the newly expecting! Hope Carlton Banks has some good news soon.

Ours is going into her 6th week on Earth tomorrow, apparently a 'fussy 5th week' is a thing, and she has been living up to that, but nothing too drastic. She slept for 5 hours straight last night beer

She is changing every day, we are hoping for her first social smile this week, the text books have been pretty accurate so far, so to all the expecting dads, even though all babies are different, do some reading before the event just to put you in the right frame of mind for what to expect.

Good luck all!
