Yes, I've done a bit of Brut splashing in my time. When I think back at that 'aroma', yikes how did we get away with it?

It arrived.

I’ll cut right to the chase. It is superb. As soon as I started taking it out of the box I got a whiff of that completely unmistakeable Aventus smell. The old Aventus.

So if you want something that smells 99% like the old Aventus, and lasts several hours longer than the new Aventus. Buy this.

I’m so impressed that I’m ordering their version of Virgin Island Water (called Isla Tropical).

Saw this mentioned quite a bit online and thought for £29 it's worth a punt: Bentley for Men Intense.
I have this one, it's pretty decent for the money. Good winter scent.
I also have the Bentley Intense.

Wouldn’t usually buy a car branded fragrance, but decided to have a punt because it kept getting mentioned by fragrance reviewers as being a high quality item for a silly cheap price.

I really like it, and the quality is excellent. One that easily lasts all day from only a couple of sprays, and you can still smell it on clothing days later. Lasts as well as the stuff Creed used to make 10 years ago.

It’s quite a ‘grown up’ smell. It’s not fresh or flowery. Agree with what alabbasi said above, it’s more of a winter one, or evenings.

One review I read described it as “A wealthy deal-making fragrance. The sort of thing you would smell in a boardroom” and I kind of agree hehe

It does smell expensive.
Agreed, it's a very warm, woody, leathery scent - really nice. Not a daytime/summer scent for sure.
Just invested in some of this on the basis of what I have read on here

Wwwwaaayyyy stronger that what I usually buy (I am normally much more lighter) but it certainly it is an interesting scent. Will be interesting to see how it beds in and I would certainly say it is more an evening scent but you really don’t need much!

Remember it's a winter cold weather scent and you trying it on mid may with the temp in mid teens hence why it seems so strong .

I mentioned my very pleasing foray into the house of Parfums Vintage a few days ago. I was so impressed with their Emperor Extrait (Aventus) that I ordered their Isla Tropical (Virgin Island Water) which arrived today.

Again, I am blown away. I have a few squirts of VIW left in a bottle, so can directly compare, and honestly, you would be really hard pressed to notice any difference at all. Even compared side by side there is nothing in it.

Even more impressive is that they included a selection of 6 free samples, all of the sizeable 5ml variety, some of which are really nice.

Highly recommended so far.

Pretty good from my initial impressions.

Most other reviews I have seen suggest that they are near enough much on par with the Creed originals, and I would agree.

I think, in all honestly ‘Emperor Extrait’ is actually a little better than the new batches of Aventus.

I assume you bought directly from their website? https://www.parfumsvintage.com/parfume-shop
Yes. I did.

Took a couple of days to arrive and was posted from within the UK.

Right, I've gone and ordered some Emperor Extrait.

The essence vault 3x100ml bottles order for ~£40 was ok and there's loads of it. But the one with the Aventus profile (#200?) I am sure doesn't las for long. Not on me anyway smile

I was quite impressed with the Aventus 'smell alike', yes it was '200', and thanks for the original heads up.
I got 20% off as well.

I reckon 341 “inspired by oud wood” is nicer. Imo

If anyone has 15 mins to waste and wants to learn more about the different years and batches of Aventus tested against Emperor Extrait, then this is actually quite informative:

If it were Ford aftershave you’d buy it but as it’s Bentley you “Took delivery”

Love that!!

Right my Emperor Extrait arrived today. Pleased with it and so far it seems to be lasting better than the Essence vault 200 "Aventus-smell-u-like" (which for the price difference it should). I've never even tried actual Aventus before so can't comment on how close the Emperor Extrait is to it smile

Parfums Vintage also included 6 samples of their latest fragrances. It's a current offer they're running. Need to work through them properly when i've stopped smelling like a tart's boudoir.

Also a bottle of Penhaligon's Tragedy of Lord George arrived today too. Seems I went a bit fragrance mad ordering online the other evening. Anyway, I'm pleased with this too.

Right, that's me well served with smelly stuff for a good while. Might even cancel the Ffern subscription....
