We had a crappy late Sept early Oct with snow then it brightened up to above seasonal into the late teens , lots of horse rides while the trails held , down hill from now on I reckon , high of 3C tomorrow with a rain/snow mix and not looking to improve until next April. Time to ready the sleds wink

Winter tyres are not necessary so long as you drive to the conditions.

We received a couple of inches of snow overnight. Nothing sticking to the roads and they're too warm, though. Hopefully will have dried out a bit for the evening for trick or treating.

Bertie, how about you?

It’s 30c here in Delhi and the smog is horrendous. Apparently, it’s the worst it’s been for 17 years and the local government are thinking about stopping all private car use until it clears. This morning, I could only just see the hotel on the other side of the roundabout that ours is located on yuck

Still. Only 24 hours to go before I’m back on the plane and I haven’t sharted yet, so things are looking mighty positive

A couple of shots for the deprived.

Not that interesting; I really couldn't be bothered to get out of the car.

The car was a bit frozen when I left work at midnight last night. Considered getting the winters put on the car but the forecast for the next few weeks looks like it’ll be over 10 degrees for a while.

We had a storm roll through on Tuesday night which got my car all dirty.

It was clear most of yesterday and then I woke up to this today.

What's the science behind such wild swings? Sounds like a mad place.

No moderating influence from the sea to keep temperatures cooler in summer and warmer in winter. So much larger swings. I remember once here (Norway) when we had 32C in the morning, and lying on beach you could see the small waves coming from the east (Russian warmth from continent). At lunch it changed to coming from north, and the temperature dropped to 10C late afternoon. Just by going from continental warmth to oceanic cold.

I'm sitting at Calais now ,spent few days in Tuscany, weather was horrendous Monday and stuff on italian news was eye opening.
Venice floods,surprise !
Rapallo, boats smashed into the shore and some partially sunk.
Trees down all over.
Liguria under water.
Roads collapsing but that's normal.

Plenty of snow up on Brenner Monday too but it is 1300 metres high.

About the same as us then. I'm genuinely curious to see how much you get this year, being further west and on the eastern slopes.

Plus the mountains screw up the predictions a lot. It doesn't take much error in prediction to be the different between a dusting of snow, and a foot of it.

A few more inches of snow overnight. Forecast for up here in the mountains is between 4-12 inches, depending on elevation.

We had another storm roll through all day yesterday and through the night.

I was working last night. These two were taken up on Vail Pass - Interstate 70 is out there somewhere!
