Chunky - I'm going to have some 10th Anniversary Mugs made similar in concept to tea or coffee mugs but bearing a witty motto as yet undecided. Could you alert the pioneer Trivialites in any of the Trivial Splinter Groups of this occurrence in case they would like one?
Done.

I’d love one Dicky. It would be displayed proudly in my shedpub -which is itself a symbol of happier times when compared to my suburban Kent life, from where I posted several thousand times within the escapist Towers of Trivia, through the late noughties. I knew I needed to make a big change. Thankfully I was brave enough to do it, came back to where I was brought up and closer to family. Now I’ve got this out the back garden:

...and have built this monument, where my tenancy at Trivia Towers needs a mug-shaped reference...

Thank you for helping me through Dicky!
Well that's a lovely view and a smashing Man Cave. thumbup

Looks like a lifetimes ambition to have 15 minutes of fame has been dashed in the forgetting to add yeast to the bread maker.

Serious Face - I am absolutely overwhelmed by the comments.

Could someone lob in some anti-matter to level things?

Mug order noted.

Trivial Face - lemon drizzle cake under construction here.
I too would be interested in a mug, missed the last one.
My mug shall be used for hot orange squash during the winter, just how my mum made it from recipes passed down through the generations (boil kettle, pour in mug containing orange squash)

Let me know about mug costs thumbup

Still some way off for the mugs. The 10th Anniversary is at the end of July. All being well they will be made and distributed by then.

My uncle was a ‘loggie’ in the war.

Trivia is quite important. The foundation block of human understanding of the multitude of facets of being around us.

He didn’t put it that way. He called it ‘moving socks around the world’.

Even in the midst of the pandemic that originated in Wuhan, I feel the PH censors have taken a rather extreme and zenophobic standpoint. rolleyes

I was going to post Mrs P’s interracial microphone LinkedIn (or whatever) main photo.

Thought better of it. Or rather she did.

I just wish I had thought better in the past. Like retro wisdom. 22nd June 1990 would have been the ideal day as it was the Friday before my wedding.
Only now do I get the microphone reference to my wieners... rofl

I want to visit captainzep’s rather excellent pub shed. He might be best advised not being there. I’ll move out eventually.

I had my first lockdown shave last Wednesday. I’m about three weeks past needing a haircut. I can’t even find my dog clippers and I’m not about to Bic my swede (not a euphemism).

As we are feeling nostalgic approaching the 10th Anniversary, a little history lesson for the young 'uns ( well as far as Trival Towers is concerened anyway ).
I joined the So Trivial Crew somewhere around the tail end of Volume 1 and boy were there some characters back then, some became great friends ( wavey CB), some became internet friends and some are still around ( wavey ZOLLAR, capnzep)
What a heady time it was for trivia, as His Lordship said a little while back, we were going through a volume a month at one point with some great characters - CW7, CB, ZOLLAR, Waugh, Jonny5 - to name just a few ( Some names escape me - Matt with the beard for example) and as time went on, new characters showed up and joined in with the fun.
Oh what fun we had, occasionally some of us would get told off - Myself, CB and CW7 were frequently frowned at hehe - and there was even a seperate group on that there book of face and what fun that was too, again some great friends made some of whom i still speak to now.

And then it started.
We had a younger member of the STC, i wont say who or give clues as to their identity, who had a partner with a few 'issues'. Said issues became a point of mirth until this partner caught the younger member and proceeded to deliver an obllocking of epic proportions. So far so good, the STC were supportive until one member of the STC decided that this partner was not suitable for the younger member. Said younger member decided they quite liked this partner. So a certain member of the STC decided it was their mission in life to split this couple up as this partner did not meet this members criteria of what they thought the younger member should have in a partner to the point said younger member was driven from the internet full stop.

Another occasional member of the STC collective decided to point out that this was obllox only to be rounded upon by the other members personal protection team - as they were treated like a deity - and essentially this occasional member of the STC collective was....yep...you guessed it, driven from PH.

At that point, i saw how things were going and decided a self imposed exile was the only option i had, otherwise i would have been the next 'victim' of this deity's personal protection squad.

And that's why i left the first time round.
There were some strange characters involved in TT over the years, we did have one member who spent god knows how long telling us all of the rather unpleasant details of their life to date, how they had such an amazing career blah blah and then stone me, a few years later this member had an event that turned everything they had previously said on it's head.
Another member spent christ knows how long in a seperate section of the t'interweb asking ladies for pics of their chests
And me, i buggered off to other parts of the 'net but kept in touch with a few people via FB (wavey CB) and a few members who appear to no longer be about - pennylope, rach, ahh moneypenny and poledriver to name a few

Then after almost 10 years, i managed to find my way back and a whole host of new names were in here, most of you buggers are strange hehe and it was nice to see the old place doing so well and the occasional visit from some of the older names - GOG440 and Chunky amongst others and i thought everything was good in the world
And then it started
This time though it was that Covid-19 thing and in particular one news item that sparked an almost countrywide hero worship of someone. Nothing unusual about that except that given the current circumstances, the country as a whole seem oblivious to the fact that a certain organisation is not the only one working on the front line, other people are working in harms way - especially Lady Slopes - yet once again, a certain person is being treated almost like the second coming.
And therein lies the reason for my departure a second time, if i state what i think, i will get absolutely slaughtered by some sections of PH for not toeing the line and how dare i say such things, blah blah blah and it would almost be like i had just kicked the dog of the child of the second coming.

Enough is enough for me
Look after the old girl, some of you do know how to get in touch should you ever want to - not you CB - and enjoy discussing matters trivial

I'm sorry you feel that way slopes, I like you a lot as a mate and hope it's nothing I've done or said, Trivial Towers has, as you pointed out, changed an awful lot over the years, it's changed even since I've joined the ranks, and I truly hope that it continues even after Dicky steps down, I'd struggle with not coming on here and catching up with, chatting to and learning from all the people on here!!!!

You're golden Bobbers, as is everyone else who is a regular in TT right now, most of the things that i described happened nearly 10 years ago bar the current one and that is not anything anyone in here has done or said.

However, you know where i am if you ever want to ask me about anything.

Our wholesome home-grown organically farmed ethical TT Farm Trivia is a far cry from the.dystopian chemically treated, genetically altered bitter-tasting broth that is produced over there at NP&E Apocalypse Industries Inc, which distribute such corrosive and abrasive attitudes that slopes has referred to.

I had no idea that TT had previously undergone such a dark period.

Let us pledge to keep TT a pleasant place to be, where all are welcome* to unburden, relax, and enjoy a convivial pint of Absinthe in like-minded company. hippy

* except for that fking tt. biggrin
