tonnesVolkswagen vehicle's headlights?

But I do think (to the op of this thread), the letter could be right in the right context, for example, wouldn't this work?:
Volkswagen vehicle's headlights?
Or is that also a no-go?
It depends. Do Volkswagen only have one vehicle? Are you referring to a single vehicle belonging to Volkswagen?Volkswagen vehicle's headlights?
Or is that also a no-go?
If not then it should be Volkswagen vehicles' headlights, or simply Volkswagen vehicle headlights depending on what fits into the sentence better.

Are they headlights or headlamps?
The Amercanisation of the English language seems to be proceeding at an accelerating pace.
Well, this might be because we (continental Europeans), get American English instead of UK English. The Amercanisation of the English language seems to be proceeding at an accelerating pace.
All my business contacts in English are American too.
So to me they will always be headlights. I'm also at pistonheads.com, not pistonheads.co.uk, so I like to think I'm on an international forum, not a British one.

I wasn't, I just didn't think you guys were so "language protectionists", don't really see the point in that. Let a language evolve. In 100 years, a lot of small languages will have dissapeared again, in favor of the big ones (English, French, Spanish). The language protectionists (like French) that will not allow their language to be changed by foreign influences will become the "Welsh" of the world.
There's a difference between language protectionism by fiat, comme les Français, and people just getting it wrong not because they're part of an evolutionary process, but because they can't or won't spell or punctuate properly.CommanderJameson said:

Now that sounds ok to me and isn't incorrect spelling imho...
