Reminds me of some blokes from my school who found a tunnel leading from the old staff room to a bunker below the music school at the other end of the school field. Apparently built during the summer holidays in 1940, there are pics somewhere if I can find them.
That would be good to see! There must be lots of tunnels around that people dont even know about. I seen a website a few years ago saying there were tunnels all over glasgow all linked up.

There are miles of old railway tunnels under Glasgow. You can still access some from the Botanic gardens, but the ones by Kelvin Bridge have been blocked off - one is even a restaurant now. Spent many hours down there as a kid!!

If you could get in, Famagusta, in Cyprus would be great, I imagine it to like a Pripyat without the radiation!
I would love to get into this type of thing, would love to explore Cane Hill, the nearest I have got is having a good look around Reims.

These pics are from a family holiday in Sri Lanka two years ago, I did actually post this on 28DL but it's since been deleted it would seem. Looking back, I was a bit stupid and mental doing this.

The view from my hotel had this severely damaged building on the skyline, which for some weird reason, interested me.

This is the railway I followed out from the relative safety of my guarded hotel, they did recommend I didn't leave, but meh.

staying at Mount Lavina? if so, was all the restoration work finished?

did you take a train ride? it gets quite interesting coming back from Columbo in rush hour!

Didn't know it was having a restoration to be honest, beautiful place though. The foyer was amazing! The rooms were a little dated, but thankfully had air con!

RAF Nocton Hospital

I was born there. Fascinating to see it now (although obviously I don't remember it from the first time I was there)

Some great pictures on this site http://www.kiddofspeed.com/chapter1.html, though she apparently was on an organised bus tour rather than the bike trip she claims.

wiki page reckons its being done by an egyptian telecoms firm, using the top for masts and simply cladding the outside to make it look better. good job as an article i read about it reckoned it'd need a few hundred million $ spending to inspect/repair the concrete as its been exposed for so long.

so, a useless hotel turned into an antenna so that they can sell mobile phones that noone is allowed to use. awesome.

When we did some arty shots for the band, the photographer took us here (an abandoned factory/warehouse type place ... we had to climb in round the back)
