Presumably mom understands 503 would be the appropriate one to laugh at.

Or she's still considering 410 as an option.

That's one (of many) things that piss me off about Star (Trek|Wars). In many cases we have better technology now; computers and weapons being particular examples.

It's where Arthur C Clarke was much more visionary than Star Trek, etc

Yeah, it's almost as if they didn't know we'd have iPads and MacBook Airs when they wrote it in the 60s

Except "they" did. Star (Trek|Wars) is stty SF, is all. And lets not talk about the stty physics, such as spaceships flying in curves, like aeroplanes. At least Trek doesn't have spaceships that look like aircraft carriers and fighter jets, and battles fought like WW2 dogfights.

An electron is driving down a motorway, and a policeman pulls him over.
The policeman says: “Sir, do you realize you were traveling at 85mph per hour?”
The electron goes: “Oh great! Now I’m lost.”

FTFY.
Fix fail. Heisenberg was not a quantum particle and was therefore not subject to his uncertainty principle.

You also failed to fix the actual error in the original joke.

(This is the geek jokes thread. We have standards here).

Fix fail. Heisenberg was not a quantum particle and was therefore not subject to his uncertainty principle.

W-e-e-e-e-lll.

I was always under the impression that macroscopic objects are subject to the HUP, but the uncertainties are too small to measure.

Touché.

Since electrons do not drive cars (unless as part of atoms comprising humans) then your fix of my fix has also failed.

Anyway, the joke only works with a human in the car and it has to be Heisenberg to make the connection.

Policeman: Do you know how fast you were going?
Heisenberg: No, officer. But I know where I am.
