The end to a fab summer, no? Aside from the oppressive heat, no hosepipe ban, no Covid, still using my soft top until it gets SORN on 01 Oct, heating only been on once this past week...

Who could have predicted this bizarre year?

Yup, though it looked a little hazy from a distance... wink

Sit rep: East Berks - Getting dark the sky is so leadenly grey and grim, lovely.

Now that Pug is an international travelling man of mystery, does anyone have any startling facts about this alleged super wet and super windy hit we are about to experience.

Is it going to be anything close to the October '87 level event?

I have a fact, making weather things quite interesting for us, but maybe not the rest of you.

This weekend, we stay in a number of yurts with the kids, a grandkid and 2 yappy dogs. Friday till Sunday.

FML.

Quite pleasant here in Lancashire today, though there were a few bands of rain passing through...

A few things...

SeeFive - how is the Yurting going?

Moderate hoying of rain here in East Berks and only moderate winds, so far.

Anyone getting a good hee-hoying of intense rain and wind, Bill?

Shirly it is time to fire up the winter thread?

Blowing a hooli and very wet overnight, but disappointingly no trees down or massive floods. biggrin

There's been photo evidence of snow, so I'd say it's a go!

We have had some fairly biblical rain and quite strong gusts at Port Solent this morning. Will have to check out the solar and electronics built into the patio umbrella as that got blown all over the place even though it is shut down tightly and fixed to a very heavy base.

The saving grace is that the weather has gone pretty quiet now and I am still at home - we don’t check in to the yurts till 3pm today - well some of them will, I will be even later into this evening as I am working.

Sounds like I should find a reason to pull an all nighter at work smile

I think we are over the worst of it (famous last words). The forecast is pretty calm in terms of more wind around here but there are some heavy showers predicted and longer periods of light rain throughout the weekend.

[camps up] oh, this weather. Don’t know whether to pack flip flops or wellies smile

Doesn't matter where they are - it's going to rain a lot everywhere. It's going to rain biblical amounts in the amber... rofl

Emsworth, Hampshire, just a little east of where we live. Will get a sitrep on ground conditions soon as the missus has just left to go there. My money is on deep mud!
