Its kicking off again here tonight in NL.
Hailstones the size of golf balls brought chaos to the motorways around Eindhoven - plenty of cars completely smashed up.
This mornings storms have caused an estimated €20M in damage around Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Im sick of the rain TBH, the ground water around where I am is the highest in living memory and its causing a lot of problems. We just need some dry and stable weather.

We had 38C yesterday in Luxembourg, which was great as it was a national holiday.
By 3pm it was too hot to stay sitting in the garden, even with the parasol!
It was still 28C at 9pm.
Cooler today with a high of *only* 28C
Chuck a bit of it our way could you, there's a good chap. By 3pm it was too hot to stay sitting in the garden, even with the parasol!

There's only ever been 1 year dubbed a year without a summer (1816), although the title is probably a Little misleading, it was an agricultural disaster for the northern hemisphere. And that was linked to the dust from Mt. Tambora erupting in April 1815.
So the odds are pretty good that there will actually be a summer! Indian summers seem to have been common of late too, so even late October isn't too late for some nice warm settled weather.

I spent most of November 2006 recuperating from an operation in a north London hospital. Many of my days were spent sitting the shade of trees in the hospital grounds. I remember portable air conditioning units being deployed throughout the hospital. So the odds are pretty good that there will actually be a summer! Afraid we're heading in to a sustained cool and unsettled spell. The NW will bear the brunt, with the SE clinging on to the occasional chance of average temps.
Too early to tell maybe but any idea likely conditions for next Sunday in the Milton Keynes area? I'm doing a half ironman and hoping it doesn't rain. Can handle heat or it being cool but if it is likely to rain I may swap my tyres.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
