Net weather snow chart, showing snow from 12am tonight through Wednesday for the NW but the Net Weather local forecast doesn't match that.

I think the snow will be altitude dependant and I'm only at 450ft so I reckon I will see rain.

Does anyone use http://www.wunderground.com/ ? That's predicting snow tonight and tomorrow morning for both Lancaster and Blackpool.

Is there a website that is proving trustworthy?

I recorded -0.6 here by the coast in northern Scotland. 12 degrees warmer than 5 miles inland. If anyone stops the Gulf Stream I'm going to be really annoyed.
coldest temp i've recorded since Oct 2013 when it went live. Metoffice station up the road recorded about -4.5 but always get slightly more extreme readings in the garden.

for today:

High Temperature 3.6 °C at 12:32
Low Temperature -5.6 °C at 07:36

Cloud has started thickening from the west... scratchchinscratchchin even an inch or so would be good enough - just want some snow biggrin

There is a system moving in across ireland that could give snow as it hits the cold air.

Nope, 'Window' is working well for me, the sky was blue before, it's going cloudy now, expecting more cloud rolling in later. That should bring rain, maybe some snow, but I'm not expecting it. If it snows in Lancaster, properly snows, the rest of the country's fked

Oooooo...you're from Lancaster!!

True about the weather, we do seem to be the last to be hit...but at least it has zero impact on our oneway system which is completely fubar'ed whatever the weather smile

Indeed! It seems to have been downgraded slightly since I posted that. The front seems too erratic to have any certainty of what its going to do, so time will tell.

Better than nothing though!

Well, we all have our crosses to bear smile

There was some snow last week that ground everything to more of a halt than usual from what I hear, wasnt here though so didnt see it. I think it's the combination of being close enough to the coast with some shelter both sides that the real nasty weather never really gets us. The Padiham Snow Shield's distant relative I think according to this thread.

I reckon we'll get more rain, maybe hail again rather than any decent kind of snow over next few days

The met office warning shows that if it happens it could bring quite a bit for a time but the certainty is low at the moment.

It really was bloody cold here in west London this morning, the pond at work had a frozen top layer, first time I've seen that this winter.

Sadly though it was defrosting this afternoon and now there's lots of cloud cover so I'll probably be frostless frown If any precipitation decides to drop then it'll probably be in the form of rain.

Wouldnt normally mind but I've got a longish and important first thing in the morning.

Lets see how the 255 section winters do smile
