I'm surprised that is possible, I would have thought it would not take something solid. Does seem not an unlikely thing to happen.
I was at a station in London a few weeks back and one of the staff had the barrier in bits after an old guy put his credit card in the ticket slot, moaning "have you not used one of these before?". The old guy looked a bit confused and sheepish so presumably just had a brain fart.More of a cyclist fail but it’s on Facebook.
A true fking idiot!

The cyclists are part of a triathlon.
The incident is being looked into.

Aren't cyclists the first to wail about being given a wide berth?
Difficult when they pull out from a side road straight in your path. Had a gaggle of them pulling out as I was approaching yesterday (was a stones throw from Legoland - popular cycling roads on the far side of LL). First 7 or 8 had a ton of time, no problem at all, then it got tight and I lifted off the throttle when two more went, then some idiot chanced it forcing me to brake...then two others followed him!!!
Had my son in the back so wasn't pressing on, and having to brake hard with him in the back is something I hate doing. On their own cyclists are usually better-behaved than your average car driver...but in groups they appear to lose all common sense let alone courtesy and behave however they want to...

The second rider was lucky, had the horse pulled to the left a bit faster he could have run rapidly out of room. A true fking idiot!

Both horse and bike riders are a bit nuts, but not entirely sure of what went through the cyclists head when he thought fitting in a 4 ft gap between a hedge and 500kg of notoriously unstable animal was a good idea.
