Just a heads up, I only ware Oliver Sweeneys as I know their size 8s fit me perfectly, plus I usually like their styles. They have one of their usual sales on at the moment and there's a facebook discount code FB20 to be used as well that takes off a further 20% with free delivery above £99 spend.

Just ordered £3-400s worth. Bargain if you like their (incredibly well made in my opinion) shoes.

that or you just have feet that don't fit shoes made on more 'elegant' lasts. something like this example:

would never fit me! I get away with a size 8 if it's G width but it's always tight. In f act if you measure my feet you find they are a size 7 with the width being the G width for a size 12. I have worked really hard to find shoe manufacturers who make shoes that actually fit without having to have about 3 inches of useless shoe flopping around in front of my toes. Grenson's tend to be winder than most, but other than for smart shoes there's not much out there. all, of course. without paying for a bespoke pair which is more than I want or could justify paying for shoes. and you can't get decent bespoke trainers anyway.

My daughters hate them and have used the word tragic quite freely. Pah, what do they know; if I'm having a mid-life crisis I'm planning to do it with shoes that aren't typically middle aged shoes.

Yes a reasonably safe start from the beginner but will the purple shoes and dad jeans be enough to attract some sporty feedback from shoe fans?

Any tips for rescuing/renovating water damaged shoes? My aircon leaked condensate over a pair of tan brogues, the die has leached and the shoes are stained/tide marked.

Can I do this at home or easier to take to the cobbler?
