Interesting but possibly useful fact:

'Predate' can be pronounced two different ways, and it means two different things.

But not always both at the same time. To say 'Sharks predate seals and surfers' is fine. Saying sharks don't predate trees raises the question of what happened to all the trees in the ocean if sharks didn't eat them.

‘Cleave’ can only be pronounced one way, and means two different things which are completely opposing: to split apart and to stick together. It’s therefore the only word which is its own opposite.

Facetious and abstemious are the only 2 words in English with all the vowels in the correct alphabetical order. And if you had "ly" to either of them, then they have the substitute vowel in order as well.

There's sure to be a few members here, who've eaten a few of those.

What about 'Satisfactory'?. Normally it means 'good enough' but in a performance appraisal it means 'not good enough'.

That’s very true. It also didn’t go down well when my niece said she got a B in her exam and I said well done, she really deserved it.

I've perused the entire thread, and although I have seen Fawlty Towers mentioned, I did not see the interesting but not very useful fact that there were on 12 episodes of said programme.
Every time I think of it, I can't believe it. It feels like there were way more than 12, but no.

Despite common rumour, the Standard TR3 engine is nothing like a Ferguson TEA20 tractor engine. The block, valve gear and almost every part is completely different and not interchangeable.

And there were 4 years between the two series of 6 episodes made. 1975 and 1979 they were first broadcast.

The hotel name sign at the opening credits in the initial series changed slightly on each episode, initially with slipping or losing letters. Then in:

S1 Ep.5 Warty Owls

S2

Ep2 Watery Fowls

Ep3 Flay Otters

Ep4 Fatty Owls

Ep5 Flowery tts (The only true anagram of Fawlty Towers)

Ep6 Farty Towels

The electrical energy that powers each cell in our bodies works out at 30 million volts per metre. This is the equivalent voltage of a bolt of lightning.

I got that from Octopus Energy today as factoid, after submitting a meter reading. Frankly it amazed me.
