Long time since I had a bump in the night......

DickyC said:
The other day I bit the bullet and looked at my online British Gas account. Covid, Lockdown, Putin, Ukraine and, y'know, fear the worst. The bill was big but it's the end of the summer so it could have been worse. The website recommended that in order to not owe money at the contract renewal date next April I should increase my monthly payments to nye on £300 a month. I increased it to exactly £300 and was warned I was overpaying and come April they will owe me money. I think it's unlikely, but there we are. Power bills have doubled. It's crap for everyone.

Bless 'em. Today they emailed me this:

My billing experience? Well, you know, fairies and kittens and daisies and buttercups and get the fk out of here. My billing experience? Just fk off. Idiots.
Quite agree Dicky, it's jolly annoying and appears to be common practice nowadays...

''Dear Sirs,
If I am dissatisfied with the product or deliver of the service I will let you know, otherwise, kindly refrain from seeking some reassurance like a five (5) year old!
Yours,
Pequod''

Morneve all! wavey

What will today bring, I wonder? There aren't many (if any) rabbits left to produce from the magic hat....

IOTN: Unseasonably warm wevver following a night of heavy rain hereabouts, which will be excellent news for the lovers of fungi...

IOOTN: There will be no rimes today!

Ships be like London buses - there be anuvver in 5 minutes, if, perchance, you missed "your" one. Problem arises, when they all come at once & th (Suez) canal is blocked by "Evergiven", upon whom you've already passengered. You'll never catch up wiff th backlog left milling in th holding pen.

Morning, Trivs!

I'm glad to see that all is well hereabouts, what with complaints about the provision/cost of winter warmth - my own supplier, E-On Next, has already reduced my Direct Debit to take account of the Government's largesse, and my account was in credit anyway, so hopefully I'll survive the winter.

My day thus far has consisted of being awoken in the small hours by rain lashing against the windows, and then again by my alarm as the precursor to a trip to Tesco for provisions, which was followed by coffee. And Digestives. And then a walk in the damp but sunny conditions which pass for weather here in Trivton-sur-Mer.

All is now well in my world, and I'm set for another week of procrastination and the occasional stroll to boost my step count. I might give the mighty Up! a hoseless wash at some point, and I have my sister and brother-in-law coming round for dinner on Thursday, but my diary is otherwise empty. The weather looks fine tomorrow, so I might go somewhere. I just don't know where.

Or I might not. All these decisions. It's not easy being me, but somebody has to do it.

Yep, I guess it's pretty dire when your passage is blocked like that for six days. frown

Best not to ask her. Perhaps she fell out of bed or tripped over her pussy in the dark.
She is definitely still about, because the kettle was still hot when I went to make a cuppa.

Oh well, onwards and upwards. It's as good a choice of trajectory as any.

GRover.
Well I do work for the Triviton Help Desk for Lost Souls and Lost in Space so I have to sit in front of a keyboard all day. We offer a 24/7 service - that's 24 seconds per call and 7 seconds of that call relates to mental health issues.

Hello, trivialites.

It's a tad blustery today but I'm not going anywhere so that doesn't matter. Had a mooch round the local reservoir yesterday and it was still looking very much on the low side. We need plenty of rain over the next couple of months to make any sort of impact and much as I don't like rain, I do like farmers being able to grow their crops!

IOTN the small boy moved into his own bedroom on Friday night. So far that's gone very well. He's a good lad.

I have left over slow cooker chicken stew for lunch just about to go grab some after a busy morning at the keyboard. Blustery here as well today and our garden furniture is dancing a rodeo.

I really need to go and give the grass it's (hopefully) final cut of the year but I nned to rake it over first and there's no point doing that while so many leaves are cascading onto it.

I also have some pictures to hang so maybe I'll get round to that job today.

Ooo, slow cooked curry, matured for a while, is even more nomlicious! Yer lucky Bobbers, and no mistake...

ION: grass is growing visibly, courtesy of this warm wevver, which will inevitably involve anuvver cut, when dry...

IOTN: Cook has got a mind to serve up fowl and shellfish this evening, replete wiv sum noodles and a 'rich' and aromatic source! I trust the kitchen accounts can afford such luxury?

IOOTN: Rabbits in Hats are still in short supply, apper ently!!!
