It was a very quiet night and looking through the footage, as you’d expect, not a lot. There was plenty of cat activity smile. I’m waiting for a trigger, the sound of footsteps to be reported, and then I’ll review the footage straight away. I’ll leave the camera going.

What was odd, was that it only stated recording at 2:30 am, with nothing before. I’m sure that is because it’s cheap eBay crap!

I'm back, with an update.

My wife was putting the youngest to bed. I get a text to say she's hearing noises, come check the footage.

I go up there, the light is on that you can see in the pictures. I ask her, she says she definitely turned it off.

We check the footage. The curtain is moving like mad because of the storm tonight. Whilst we are standing there, we hear a voice like noise. I shout out, "HELLO?!".

It's getting a bit intense, blood is pumping hard (not like that!). I go through the footage to put some realistic reasons to it all...

  • Son came upstairs looking for some dental floss for me, he turned the light on. Wife didn't turn it off, like she said she did.
  • Message timings checked against video, the timings coincide exactly when one of the cats walks up there, is off screen for a while and then walks past again. Too much of a coincidence for me; the noise was the cat.

She says that the noises weren't like the clear footsteps before, but it is a good explanation tonight. I'm going to move the camera to the top floor. I'll attach a video of the top floor (Only half the house is three stories, so it isn't massive, but it will give you an idea).

Cracking updates MJ85! thumbup

I really admire the way you've gone about this, very interesting too.
Appreciated.

When I moved in, I thought I was catching pictures of orbs. But then I whacked a pillow and took a picture and you'd think it was ghost central (dust), so I don't think so. Let me see if there is a pic.

Here is a video of the curtain movement in real time. Quite pronounced, but important to not get carried away with these things! laugh

Interesting dust movement at 11 sec.

The energy bill for the winter wasn't much fun, especially considering my job.

Sorry to have to say this OP, I don't believe in ghosts but your house looks spooky as fk. biggrin

Either that or you are a great new horror movie director in the making, seriously that clip wouldn't look out of place in the next Blair Witch movie.
It certainly doesn't help the imagination.

It would be nice to hear from the OP again, or some more stories of unexplained events.
I’m open to suggestions!

The last few pages have been a bit tedious, and I thought the thread could do with livening up a bit. biggrin
Here we go.

Some video outside. A look at the area where my son saw the child and a look into the window in the corridor with the curtain. Need to move the CCTV tomorrow.

I’m away for the week with work. When I return, I’ll bring down the DVR and take a look. I’ll post some footage, regardless!

We’ve heard some weird noise, together. Most could be explained by the cats, though. Interesting to see.

Only read the first page but re the Ferrari connection I do remember going to a meeting some years ago and someone saying their or their friends house was haunted in a similar vein. Quite a while ago. The meeting was in Essex but I am not sure where the house was.
I’m from Essex originally... but only bought this house in December. Regarding the Ferrari connection, bought the previous owner’s book (previous owner of the house) about one of the cars he restored. Really quite cool. This is my driveway.

Wife is having a tough time. I’m downstairs watching the GP highlights. She is in the bathroom brushing her teeth. Hears footsteps along corridor that was filmed before. Sees the shadow of someone in the corridor. Shadow gets to the end and stops. She’s convinced it was me, messing around. Certainly was not! Oh dear.

Probably going to get a slating but here goes

Back when I was in the forces I had to rent a house off-camp with some workmates. Various conditions meant there wasnt a lot of choice but we found a 1970's 3 bed terrace locally. Totally unremarkable place , bit tatty cheaply decorated typical BTL.

Some weeks after moving in funny things started to happen, would hear footsteps upstairs when we were downstairs etc , just general sounds of movement in other rooms with no-one there, bumps in the night etc

We thought little of it, none of us had lived in a house for years and were not used to central heating noises etc

One night both myself and fellow housemate were both convinced we saw a woman in our room again we dismissed it as a dream, we would also hear voices, sometimes threatening

It boiled over one day when I was asked by the RSM to take him to our house and check it, there was no one home and the neighbours had phoned the camp due to noises inside, they thought burglars, he thought illegal sub-letting but of course the house was empty and everything in its place, so I joked its probably the ghost and told him that strange noises were not unusual

After that I had to see the CO.

It turned out the house was known locally to be haunted, about 5 years before a guy had shot his wife and then himself in the property, the house had been empty for a number of years before being bought at auction but had been through many tenants

The CO's cleaner was the mother of the woman killed and warned the CO when she heard that some of his lads we renting the house so he had put out instructions to be informed of any strange occurrences. Like many things the forces have a procedure for ghosts

That was the start of what turned out to be almost two years of events

We had poltergeist activity, ie cleaning bottles thrown from upstairs down the stairs when were all downstairs.

Random objects would disappear for days and then reappear.

You would hear clear voices and threats when inside the house alone.

I saw a figure in the hall twice.

Rooms would get disturbed occasionally and clothes were often thrown around after being ironed or stacked neatly.

One of the lads got dragged out of his bed by his foot - moved out the following week

We had a visit from the Padre (CofE) who told us it was all in our heads and we needed Jesus in our lives, we also had a medium visit was that quite interesting but eventually had a blessing/exorcism done by a local Benedictine monk , and things settled down a lot, only really heard anything around the anniversary

Since it was rented people would say "Why didnt you move? " Well we couldn't find anywhere and we got an allowance of £1200 pm to live off base , this was nearly 30 years ago and £1200 per month allowed me to build and race a dragbike and my housemate to buy a 1972 Dodge Charger

That's pretty intense. Did you mange to take any photos?
