Sunniest April on record for Wales, NI and Scotland.

2nd sunniest for England (I suspect last April was Sunniest)

I come to you with hope!

Indications for a warm up next weekend. Likely to be humid and therefore not dry and sunny.

Went to friends last night. Fire with one of those fake logs was not enough!

No rain yet here either. It looks miserable up north, weather too...

Remember this thread?

Sunday looking warm (compared to what we've had) in the SE - especially East Anglia. In to the low 20s possible. But humid and cloudy.

We've moved our daughter's birthday party to Sunday from Saturday - which is another write off.

Cold spell over. No sign of summer - the jet stream buckling all over the place, sometimes the South will see better days. Plenty of low pressure and rain frown

Been a glorious day here in West Berks. Been outside without a jumper painting the fence without risk of rain. Now indoors, some of the windows ajar.

Lovely to feel warm again.

Sorry about tomorrow - we've moved all our plans to Sunday (it's our daughter's bday tomorrow - no way are we eating lunch outside a restaurant and then Ooni pizza party in our garden in the evening!).

So, brief warm-er spell this weekend. Then back to mid-teens and April showers for a while.

Better than what we've had.

Bloody great things, those. Makes pizza done in the oven feel ordinary.

Hope alert - repeated models showing possibility of a plume starting around 24th May. Keeping an eye out - it's my birthday week then!

More thunder today. Same area as yestersay. East Mids and Pennines most likely.

Hope of a more settled end of May have pretty much vanished. Shocking start to the warmer parts of the year, an absolute opposite of last year when we were locked at home in the heat. Now we're more free, nature is mocking us.

That brief warm spell in March remains the warmest day of the year

Quite often when there is an inkling of better weather (or snow in the other thread), it then disappears and returns again.

Good news... signs of high pressure over the UK returning for last week of May (and therefore my birthday) party

More of the same to start the week, before another deep low pressure system barrels in Thurs/Fri - so more sustained wind/rain than the showers we've been having.

Still hints of improvements at the end of the month, but the models are not nailing it down.

Got caught out on Tuesday near Downton Abbey (whatever it is called IRL), dog was standing in between wife's legs with her sheltering him til it passed.
There's a fantastic dog walk just south of there - climbing up Beacon Hill
