Hitler once described the British as a nation of shop keepers, he underestimated us.. I think we have deteriorated into a nation of phone answerers.. What would Hitler think now?

ETA..Yes I know the title's spelt wrong.
No he didn't. Hitler actually admired Great Britain and its Empire. He deeply did not want to fight us. We declared war on him, not he on us.Discus.

It was NAPOLEON who described England as a nation of shopkeepers. What he was aluding to was the fact that Britain's strength was in finance and commerce. He would probably be correct if he said the same today.
Is this thread a European Directive?
The Belgians said the English should upgrade their shop fronts to make them Euro compliant, the French complained that the English did not pay enough into the shop front compliance fund, the Germans, in an attempt to enforce the regulations sent out a strongly worded army, via France and Belgian to make it happen. In a fit of jealously, the Spanish also demanded the Germans invade and to annoy everyone closed their shops during lunch hour. The Italians could not decide if they liked copliance and for fear of losing their pasta quota, swapped their sinage half way through. And the English.... well they just kept calm, carried on and orderered an Indian from the Raj Tandoori to go with their German weiss bier and watched American junk on a Japanese TV.
I do believe the great sage Adolf von Bonaparte had it about right when he muttered about the drop in standards regarding history education for the masses.
