I use what I need to for my work and to find out info, but generally find most technology from the last few years irritating and time consuming to learn....

Definitely not a technophobe but it goes in waves and I try to be selective with it. I held out on touchscreens and smart phones for years, then I got one and it was the best thing since sliced bread. Now I would hate to go back to a dumb phone.

Never really been into computer games.

Don't see the point in a touchscreen lap top.

Signed up for Facebook in about 2006 then didn't touch it for 6 years. Signed back in when I became a father to share pictures of my daughter with family and close friends spread across the world. It's quite good for that, but don't feel any need to post everything that crosses my mind.

Love my Bluetooth car stereo/phone link up.

See absolutely no reason at all to join Twitter.

Find iAnythings irritating and over precious.

It's all about what you use and how. If your life revolves around having the latest and greatest everything and tweeting the world about it then you'll be constantly frustrated, overwhelmed and poor. If you use technologies that are developed enough to be useful and enable you to do something that would otherwise be difficult, expensive or downright impossible, then technology is wonderful.

Obviously I'm on PH via a tablet/pc.
That's about as far advanced as I get.
I hate face book, twitter. Face time?
Online banking? Online wking maybe ok.
I dont Skype except at work.
I don't register anything unless I can't avoid it.
Never purchase online.
Never subscribe.
Anyone else as pissed off with technology as me?
My phone has unlimited data, but I use it for text and phone calls.
I like pubs, clubs, and restaurants.
I like real stuff.
I like sex with real women not porn.
I like fast cars and bikes, not video games.
Anyone else?
I love my iPad and iPhone.
I love being nosy on FB and Twitter.
Online banking means I visit the bank maybe once every few months rather than weekly. It's a godsend.
I've bought 6 things on eBay in the last month. I have an addiction to getting expensive jeans for less than £20. I bought some Nudie and Edwins, new with tags for a total of £34. It's great.
My phone is my everything device. It's my music player for work, out and about and the car, I text, whatsapp, use apps, play candy crush on the trap. In fact the only thing I don't do on it is make calls. I think I used 7 minutes of call allowance last month in total. I hate talking on phones.
I like pubs but browse FB when my mates are at the bar.
I like fast cars but spend more time playing COD than driving fast.
I like sex with real women but can't stand to live with them. For those times in between the other half visiting and not being there, well the internet is great biggrin

Well, I think I'm the opposite of you. I work in IT so we tend to embrace technology and look forward to the next big thing and future advancements.

Most of those are just tools to do a job.

The one I struggle to understand is why the aversion on online shopping. It's quick, easy and there is a vast selection of good available often cheaper than you could get on the high street. Most stuff comes next day, there are no parking issues, stock issues and it's probably more secure than going out.

Not me.

My laptop runs a current gen i5 processor 8GB of RAM and the biggest SSD available at the time - it also runs Win 8.1 and not only don't I cry because it's "not the saaaaaaaame" I rather like it, but it's a year old now and I'd like a better one really - I still enjoy the fact it can go from stone cold off to working in sub 10 seconds.

I've got a smart phone which is probably the best tool for work I have, apart from the laptop.

A tablet.

A games console.

I bank online, I haven't been into a branch in months, I might pop in once a year - this allows me to bank with the a Building Soc that's nearest branch is half a hour a way without it ever being an issue.

I buy almost everything I can online, I don't do the weekly shop online because I don't want to spend half a day waiting for them, but I live 5 miles from one of the biggest shopping 'places' in the UK, but I never visit it, aside from once a year when the wife forces me.

I use Facebook, but I find it frustrating most of the time, I enjoy Twitter and of course PH (which anti-social media snobs, is very much social media).

Glad I'm not the only one who just doesn't get twitter. I've tried using it to follow a few venues or comedians so I know about upcoming events/gigs but once you're following half a dozen feeds any useful info gets swamped in the useless stuff.

Wouldn't class myself as a technophobe but there are various other thing I just don't "get".
I play a fair few computer games but the majority of modern console games seem to be first person shooters which do nothing for me.
I use facebook to keep in touch with friends and arrange things, but am always amazed how much narcissistic crap and personal details people post on there, and don't get me started on the rubbish games.
I use a smartphone for e-mail and web browsing but again no interest in the rubbish games.

Cringe.

Don't they teach you IT in school? Being computer savvy is a necessary evil these days whether you like it or not.

I would definitely be down the pub more often and have fast cars if I could afford it. So rather than be staring at the TV I'd rather be tinkering with technology - last night I finally got round to putting in a AV component switch so I can have all my AV equipment going through my surround sound system (Virgin Box, Smart TV, Wii, PS2 and DVD player - my amp only has 2 native inputs). Did this at half time whilst watching the Tottenham game.
So nope not a technophobe - but have had many a beer from self confessed technophobes to sort out their "broken" equipment.

Yep, I have a terrible fear of technology, I rarely (if ever) post on forums and my iphone is two years old.

You are aware it won't ring once you leave the house and are out of range from the base station, aren't you?

You're a schoolkid, yeah?

What do you want to do when you grow up?
What's the betting the only keys on his keyboard to see any use and be worn are "P" "O" "R" and of course "N"?

I reckon he's scared of googling that. He's so old fashioned he goes hunting in bushes for 'used' goods.
