Also bought a spirit level which is almost entirely useless as a spirit level. However it does have an integrated tape measure, 2 line markers, steel ruler which has angles under it and some storage for pencils. All of that stuff on it means you can only put it down flat on the bottom edge. It's truly a st spirit level, I love it.
Crying. Brilliant!

A box of assorted o-rings. I think there must be about 1000 in there and I've used 2 in two years. Quite sad really as I know I will never ever buy another o ring in my lifetime...

If im passing i like to call in just to see whats on offer.

I buy alsorts of stuff. Probably the most random was a set of really long screw drivers they are huge. Dont even know why i bought them but about a month after i did i used one of them would of been stuck without it biggrin

The best thing ive seen is the generators. A mate bought one and it got used loads cracking bit of kit.

Just this morning whilst browsing the shelves of said establishment I spotted

a lovely little thing that I really had no need for but, just had to have it. It really is a lovely looking thing and, I wager if one traipses down to said establishment and finds one left on the shelf, you'll be parted with £5.99 - they really do look nice!
I have these in my trouser pockets right now, got them the last time they were in.

We don't get Aldi here, but the middle aisle of his brother's, Lidl, is equally dangerous.

Tent (have one), blowtorch (unused), DA polisher (unused), 4 seasons sleeping bag (far too warm to use, but prepared for the upcoming ice age), sander (used once, failed), gazebo (no garden), set of golf clubs (absolute crap), bike rack (before I owned a bike), set of spanners (pretty good actually), ground mat (again, good), camping stove (unused) and some rugby tops which get used regularly.

I got a cordless screwdriver with built in touch, various attachment and charger for £2.49. Yes £2.49. And it works very well, it was down from £14 in the sale.

OOh, I've never been into Lidl.

I didn't realise they had a man isle too.

Sadly my 12v impact driver which I bought from Aldi some years back has died. a fraction of the price of any equivalent one I've seen and worked really well.

Same here, I've used about 3 of them which means it still works out cheaper than if I'd bought the 3 relevant O-rings from Yamaha!

The Lidl Powerfix spanner and tool range are actually surprisingly good. I've yet to break or bend the spanners and they're a precision made so nice and tight on your nuts. TUV marked.

I've nothing to add to this except to ask why it is that st supermarkets and other discount stores are obsessed with combining different things into one?

A pen with a built in calculator, a watch with a built-in torch, a spirit level with built in tape measure and pencil case etc. etc.

They're always st.

Hang on.

Was it LIDL or Aldi you could buy the blowtorch? I just decided I need one.

Ditto - used about ten in two years..... keep hoping for a leak somewhere to use another....

Their fishing rods are absolute tripe but groundbait & boilies excellent... have about 20kg tucked away - just as my offspring decides he's gone off fishing...
