I think we are definitely reaching "peak beard" in a trendy sense. If not slightly past it.

I grew a beard on holiday in Peru last year. I've now worked out it looks st and shaved it off for an interview in
January, however now my acceptable time between shaves has halved. Is this normal, or am I reaching delayed puberty?

Bloody hell even Dale Winton has it going on
It's true, google even suggests "dale winton beard" as you type. Surprisingly, his face isn't the most disturbing image returned. Urgh.

I have had a silly goatee before when I was about 21 but as im blonde you could hardly see it I think I grew it in the hope it would make me look a bit older (plus they seemed in at the time).I have not got anything personally against beards everyone to there own and trends/fashion changes all the time I remember when sideburns were the trend not too many moons ago

I quite like growing a beard in every so often. It's no great fashion statement, or any defining expression of who I am...

It's just not shaving for a couple weeks. I cant see what all the fuss is about.

Does your skin the world of good, too.

Likewise, I'm only thirty but I've been rocking this look for several years as the only hair I can grow is on my chin!

Irritates me that hipsters have made me look like one of them.

I just keep stubble, maximum 7 day's worth. Never shaved, just use a trimmer.

Sadly couldn't be further from the truth in my case - starts getting difficult to use a razor after just 2 days!

Likewise... can't get away with the itchiness of a beard.

Can't get away with the smooth wet shave look either though since all my hair fell out hehe

A beard is more of a winter thing for me. I work outdoors for several hours per day. Nowt to do with looks, just practicality and keeping warm. It also saves time & money. Around 1.5 hours per month plus the cost of blade wear.

Shaping beards is a bit weird though. It looks like the owner of carefully manicured beard spends more time in front a mirror than his wife/boyfriend does.

So, you're saying you had a beard before it was trendy? Isn't that what hipsters say? biggrin

Ditto. March 1967, to be precise.
Maybe in N. Korea they'll limit beard styles as I believe they have hairstyles. But shirley not in the rest of the world.

No, I'm saying I dislike hipsters and don't wish to look like one. That is all. smile

The sooner beards are uncool again the better as far as I'm concerned.

I once suggested to my wife that I grow a beard on a skiing holiday. The look she gave me left me in no doubt that I would be for a period of celibacy which would precisely coincide with the time that I would be sporting facial hair. I kept shaving. In fact I'll shave twice in a day if I am going out in the evening.

I was discussing it with ladies in the office recently and they all agreed that they wouldn't let a beardy near them. Less rumpy pumpy is too high a price to pay for trendy facial tonsure and topiary.

Ironically 'keeping warm' is a pretty girly reason for having a beard wink

I agree though, 'deliberate bearding' is irritating, where people have beards and constantly bang on about having a beard and how if you don't have a beard you're not manly, et cetera.

I tend to shave for events like job interviews and whatnot, the beard I have between those times is due to laziness and purely incidental.

I've had a beard for donkey's years, ever since I realised how much I hated the tyranny of shaving. They might be trendy at the moment, but I can always console myself that no-one outside an asylum for the terminally bewildered is ever likely to confuse me with a 'hipster'.
