I'm with Condi, everything in one loseable place is no good for me so have never owned a wallet.
Yup, I just fold my notes around my Oyster card, debit card and the credit card I usually use. I keep my driving license in my car, so I don't need to have any other cards on me. Phone goes In the pocket with cards/folding money and change goes in the other pocket.nagsheadwarrior said:

I have been using one (with a different lady) for the last 4 years or so and it's still in great condition, the transfer has not worn at all.

Braun Buffel lasted me 3 years and was in tatters by the end of it.
Montblanc Meisterstuck 6 is new and feels just right, although not as soft as I would normally like.
Doesn't help that the biggest bank note size here is the equivalent of £5 so when out acquiring coke and hookers the wedge can be pretty big.

I've been in the same boat I've been hunting for a good wallet the last few months but not seen anything that took my fancy. Then I found ettinger and think I have found the wallet I'm after. Although I'm very tempted to go the minimal route with a Ettinger credit card case. However my question is what do people do when they end up with a bit of loose change? Chuck it in a pocket, coin bag or even a coin purse?

I now have a LV wallet and it's the best wallet that I have ever had. It's beautifully made and their customer service is brilliant.
exactly! I have been amazed that LV wasn't the first mentioned, but I have just looked up Ettinger (had not come across them) and they do look nice.

I hate coins in pockets, especially suit pockets. clink, clink, clink. Grrr. I had a coin purse for a while; very practical but you do get some odd looks. I just throw away the metal stuff now, obviously.
Oh, and Aspinal.

I've not been too impressed with Paul Smith wallets in the past...
My aspinal wallet held up well for a number of years...

My current one was £7 and several years old and looks fine!
My missus bought me a really nice Starhide one for xmas. The leather is really soft and the wallet is well made too. Has loads of card storage too.

£100s don't fit.
Eh? Come again. Had as Aspinal after first seeing them mentioned on here, sadly it didn't last long as the stitching tore. Now replaced with a bog standard Debenhams plain black leather item that does a fine job.

Sometimes fashion branded ones are not the longest lasting and before long look like an octogenarian's ball sac.
Bought a dark brown leather "Made in England" wallet 30yrs ago from Altrincham Market for less than a fiver and its still going strong. Bit rough around the edges but has a patina that can't be replaced. And yes it does get used - every day. As a modern match Ettinger probably comes closest in terms of quality
4yrs ago my wife bought me a Paul Smith 'nude lady' wallet. It's still in the box on my desk!
This is my opinion. It has spent every day since then in my front right-hand trouser pocket with a bunch of keys and some coins. It does not lead an easy life and yet it now just looks 'aged'. The corners are slightly rounded but every stitch is still in place and the lining is still where it should be.
I'm shocked at the people here who seem impressed by a £100+ wallet lasting a couple of years.
