What's the best thing you've ever bought in a POUND shop?
Discussion
Why chuck money away for fear of being seen by members of your golf club or masonic lodge? The worst that can happen is them duffing you up in the changing rooms or having a goat's head shoved up you.
I buy a few items there. You have to check carefully that you're not paying more. It can happen. But overall you can save several quid on common items.

Not sure if the people who say they'd be embarrassed to go there are serious or being humourous.
There are some great buys in pound stores.
I'm not saying you'd go there to buy something for a special occasion but an iPhone charger for a pound! 10 tubes of superglue for a pound! I love stuff like that.

It's like a telecost.Nestle instant coffee for less than half the price in Tesco.
Chocolate Nesquik , again £1.89 in Tesco. The kids drink it like it's going out of fashion.
Lastly, they occasionally do a degreaser in a plastic bottle, it's green but I can#t recall the name, anyway it's the absolute nuts for cleaning the stainless hob, degreasing stuff and works as a brilliant hand cleaner after tinkling with the cars.

Armourall car wash
Armourall car wash/wax
Loads of garden tools including garden shears, adjustable rake, knee pad (also bought one for £3.50 that was half the size from B and Q)
Box of 50 Christmas cards
Box of Daz 36 washing capsules
Stanley knife blades and loads of garage tools
I live in a West Yorkshire town where there are 3 pound shops with 50 yards of each other, they are always busy.

A huge tub of assorted size cable ties, think there were 2,000 in different sizes and colours in the pack.
Still using them regularly about 5 years later!!
Also, a "picture hanging kit" which had loads of assorted screws, hooks and other fixings in a compartmentalised plastic container. Much better than paying 99p for 3 hooks at B&Q.

I would honestly rather die alone in a pit of misery and despair that even walk into one. I thought they were actually there just for the homeless. There are some great buys in pound stores.

Well done for propping up the Chinese economy though with your purchasing of fake and seconds/crap quality products. Just be careful with the electrical stuff though yeah? You know that CE sign isn't what you might think it is?
I'd rather buy something once and it last more than a week or buy the real item than have to resort to a 'market' type item from a pound store.
