My Vito. Had a nice helpful "driving bulb fail" on the dashboard...
Not an Audi is it by any chance??
Yes, one of those very common Audi Vitos. rolleyes

OP, I believe Halfords are not too keen on changing headlight bulbs on Renault Meganes either.

Whenever there is snow forecast there is seemingly an infinite amount of people that suddenly need to make "important" 500 mile journeys from one end of the country to another and feel the need to tell everyone about it and ask stupid impossible to answer questions like "how bad will it be in x place or y motorway? Will I make it?"

Don't be a fecking 'tard and postpone it for a few days until the snow has gone? rolleyes

I'm not questioning your right to be annoyed beyond reason, but surely I'm missing something here.

3 1/4" is exactly 3 1/4". It's not vague in the slightest and makes perfect sense.
Indeed. Perhaps they don't understand fractions and don't realise that 3 & 1/4 is 3.25 silly

Probably best not to mention the "thou" as a division of an inch. biggrin
I was going to post similar. Imperial measurements were used for engineering to fine tolerances before we went metric. There is nothing inaccurate about the imperial system.

Yup, just tweaked a 18" x 12" x 3/8" chunk of metal to within half a thou (0.0005" - That's 0.0127mm) as it ran along some rails today. Used my 3/32" allen key to do it.

It's great fun taking training courses in Europe though...... To give you an idea, the french for inch is "pousse". The same word is used for Thumb. thumbup

Yep, the width of the average adult male thumb is almost exactly round about roughly 1 inch wide.
Coincidence?

Or just rule of thumb?

scratchchin I wonder where the imperial measurement of the "foot" was derived from?

One thing I don't get is people who after having a baby decide to be weird about their photos.

Some people are fine posting a picture. however some are like 'if you want a picture message me!'

then there are others who will post photos of their baby but obscure their face. I have 1 person on instagram who posts several photos a week of their baby and what they're up to with it. they've post a photo with their head cut off. or with the head facing away from the camera. it's really odd. even with videos, they'll only post a video that's showing the back of their head.

Merseyrail trains/stations.

Just got the train to Liverpool - and as you pull into each station, there is a sign up telling you which station. The problem is, if you are sat on one side of the train - the sign is just at the same height of the window/opener divider - meaning you can't read it.

I'm sure I have noticed a similar thing on London Underground rains too.
