Just imagine yourself explaining how you cam to break your wrist to the nice nurse in casualty, does that make you feel a bit of a tit ?

Only joking, pad and helmet up, go somewhere quiet and have a go again !

Good going!
Careful with that back foot, don't want to be putting it through the deck hehe

One thing I don't miss is spending money on shoes that would be wrecked quickly!
I still buy es skate shoes, quite smart casual footwear, they stopped producing them for a good number of years but started again a few years ago.

Yeah - those nice Adidases will be shredded. Get some decent skate shoes with bits that protect the laces.

Google "middle aged shred". There are plenty like you.
Injuries are common for returning skaters though..go slow.

I just found Highway Gospel on Amazon Prime. That's worthy of a watch for inspiration.

A few weeks back I had a go on my mates briefly. I was never that good in the first place but it was bloody terrifying!

I still have my deck that I bought from Roller Snakes in Nottingham when I was 14 (a good few months paper round money!).

Now 28 years later I 1.) seem to have lost all balance and 2.) Have a greater sense of fear! ,. my eldest lad has just started to use it in the back yard though smile

What deck is it? Some old skool ones go for silly money now, especially Vision and Powell Peralta from the mid-late 80's

Just passed 50 here, would love to go back to my youth with my Stacey Peralta Warptail, ACS 651s and yellow Kryptonics. I'd imagine my balance will be somewhat degraded by all those years of hard living and football injuries though....

I bought a pair of rollerblades a couple of years ago and went to the local skate park on a Friday morning first thing. I was so nervous but such a thrill even just going up and down the ramps again made it worthwhile. I really do need to get back there and have another go as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Go for it OP!

If your local skatepark is anything as here, you'll have no problem sorting out some marijuana should you so wish.

Just to add for all other active or non active skateboarders, get the book "The answer is Never" by Jocko Weyland.

I read it as a Teen, it's a great through the eyes of a guy who grew up seeing the trend of skateboarding from the sidelines so to speak.

I've read it many times.
