Its different these days, most people have most of what they want in my family, or somethign with a budget of £15 isnt going to enhance their lives.

CDs and DVD's are gone by and large as presents as we have Spotify, so its usually chocolates or booze, got enough of that

Most of it is st that goes in landfil or a wardrobe within a week.

The art of present buying is getting them something they didn't know they wanted but appreciate anyway. And you don't need to spend large amounts to do it.

We have a small child. The delight in watching him happily opening and playing with his toys makes up for the rest of the cr*p that goes with Christmas.

I love Christmas, it’s great to get everyone together and eat and drink and just have everyone around. When I seize power there’ll be a ban on anything to do with Christmas until December and then everyone can go wild. Christmas adverts started in September this year, by the time it actually gets here it’s not as exciting as you feel it should be. Also there’ll be a mandatory week off work for everyone.

We've suggested something similar this year.

My MIL goes OTT with gifts.

She agreed to buying fewer things this year although I'm not convinced it'll happen.

I absolutely hate Christmas. Best day of the year for me is the first Monday when things get back to normal.

Kettle on, apple turnover from Greggs, Ken Bruce Show and enjoy the fact that it's well over 300 days before the damned thing starts to rear its ugly head again.

I'll be spending Christmas Day on my own. I may walk to the boozer for a few beers, I may not; will see how I feel on the day.

Present wise everybody can GTF, I won't be spending a penny and I expect nothing from others. My family are in Huddersfield and I'm in Aberdeen, I'll be down there for a few beers over new year but that's about the extent of my holiday cheer.

Bah humbug biggrin

I can’t be arsed with it either but my wife absolutely loves it so really, I have no choice but to go along with it.

Me and the misses don't buy smything for each other

With my family (bro sister et) we do secret santa with a £10 limit

So normally at Xmas I end up with one pressie that cost a tenner

Suits me fine , I like Christmas but it should be about family And not tat .

We have 4 kids that we spend about £100 on each

Charity starts at home. I'd rather donate it to myself than some faceless organisation.

You might not have it at home as it might be something slightly different. It might be something that you wouldnt buy for yourself, but you end up enjoying it.
