I can’t remember the last time I went on a normal bus. Must be years.

However, I’ll be going on one tomorrow as the Lowestoft to Norwich train isn’t running and there’s a replacement bus service instead. Not really looking forward to that journey.

We get on the fun bus more in the summer than the winter it takes an hour to walk to the bus stop and takes us into Wells or Glastonbury or both.
Why not the car you ask, well we are on tour at this time so having the car with us might land me in the nick or a field.

Going into town I take a taxi or walk as again it takes an hour to walk.

As in paid for public transport; probably 8 or 9 yrs ago when the Mrs had a strop about the car I bought and I ended up having to drive to mechanic to change packed up alternator as one bolt was seized (my first attempt at alternator change going swimmingly well up to that point),; she wouldn't follow to give me lift home

October in Krakow from the hotel to the airport, very efficient, clean and cheap.

Before that, it would have been in 2015 in Sardinia; to the airport again, and like Krakow, very clean and cheap.

I can't remember the last time I used a bus in the UK but based on my daughters bus usage to get to college a few years ago, they are expensive and the service is pretty unreliable.

Last year visiting my son in Brighton, we went to the coast on the bus that stops outside his apartment block. The card machine wasn’t working so we got a free ride. Normally walk the 4 miles down London Road but that made a pleasant change.

Can’t recall the last time I used one at home, must have been years and years ago.

Last august to get to a stadium at a gig. Couldn't complain really, it the bus stop was 30 seconds walk from my home and dropped me outside the stadium.

I still hate them though!

Bus wker, here. Sadly the loser cruiser is a daily occurrence down here in London.

It is cheaper than the tube though, and you can breathe the air if you go upstairs.

On Monday, to get from the tube station to the Jag service centre to pick up my F-Type.

Generally a few times a month at most. I use the tube to commute.

Haven't read through all the replies but being PH have we had the "I'm 58 and have never been on a bus in my life" or similar oddity? These threads often have people queuing up to out do others with how detached from normal stuff they are.

As for me, used one in central London on Wednesday, a No.3 from Whitehall.

I literally don't remember.

Not this century anyway ,same goes for trains, last one being 1997 when I went to collect a new van.

Does a shuttle bus from NEC to NEC car park count ?...If so ,a couple of years ago then.

I like how in your story you are trying to somehow make out that the local who was trying to help you was the ignorant one.

No real bus service in co.Galway to speak of. But there are a few good coach services. One from Galway to Dublin, nice clean coaches with power sockets and wifi, works out cheaper for 2 to take that service rather than drive, 3 people in a group is about the break even point.

Last week.

I live a 20 minute walk from the train station and if I’m feeling a little lazy and I see a bus coming, I’ll jump on.

Smiler.

Yesterday. My banger was having a new steering rack so I went to the seaside. Not much slower than a car and less cost than fuel.

A good bus service is a fine thing. Shame it's so hopeless in so many places.
