"Pulling the trigger" in reference to making a purchase.

Whoever says it really needs to accept they're going to get a decent sized Filofax to the back of the head.

"As you'll recall from my previous threads"
or
"As I've said on here many times before"

Seriously, who the fk are you again?
You think I sit here pressing F5 waiting for you to type something??

Asking a question or for help, and then never responding to the half-dozen in-depth detailed helpful responses.

Omitting relevant information (eg "Anyone know any good detailers?" and not posting whereabouts you live).

Write-only posters who raise points without reading what's already been said, sending the conversation around in circles.

Posting blind links (just the URL, no description) to videos, music, classified ads etc. Firstly people have to open the link to follow the conversation. Secondly a day/week/month later when the original page linked to has been taken down, a later reader has no way of knowing what was being talked about.

Any OP that starts with the word "So"

Unless you're a teenage girl, this is simply not a credible way to start a sentence.

Cats.
Keep your bloody pet on your own bloody property.
They are only slightly worse than people who do not know the plural form of 'forum'.

"whip" [except when referring to a device for encouraging horses to run faster, or for sexual gratification (of the user, not the horse, obvs)]

I hate threads that start : Talk to me about….....…..

I also hate adverts that say : Here is my ,.....

Just edited to add pulling the trigger. It literally makes we want to do that to the poster.

Dogs, keep you pets urine and fecal matter on your own property.

I would say that abbreviations annoy me most. I get HTH and IANAL, but there are so many that I need to Google. Don't be lazy, just spell it out for those us who grew out of our teen years.

In all honesty, this happens to be true quite a lot of the time and there really is no other way of putting it.

Totally agree with you along with "like" which seems to be every second or third word in sentences nowadays.

I started a thread recently with that

I’ve let myself down, the forum down etc :-(

Threads beginning with something along the lines of "The initial message was deleted from this topic on 17 July 2022 at 17:38"

Invariably a thread started by a bluthering fickwit which rapidly turns into an amusingly massive car crash, but unless someone has kindly quoted the initial post early in the thread it can be difficult to deduce the cause of the wreckage.

People who end their post with their username/initials is the main one...no idea why it winds me up as much as it does.

People who don't update threads after asking for help/advice. Or when threads just disappear (the engine/warranty one annoyed me more than it should).

How do we feel about quoting someone, editing their words, and writing 'FTFU' underneath?

It can be a usefully concise and precise way to express a difference of opinion; it can also be vague, unclear, or propagate the second poster's misunderstanding of the first.
