I'm already on the lookout for the Christmas Music channels on Sky. I swear they started at the beginning of October last year. Christmas officially starts when I see Elton hold up his Watford season ticket.
If you're in to Advent calendars you can buy a calendar with 24 QR codes where each one links to a separate Christmas tune on Spotify.

Similar idea for those with yoofs in the house, there is also a calendar available where the various QR codes link to a separate viral or particularly humorous TikTok from the last year.

As much as I love Christmas (can you tell?) we hold off the music and decorations until 1st Dec.....

Having said that, I do feel maybe we need to start some sort of tradition for November....as we do hold off feeling too festive until Halloween is out of the way. Although my Birthday is in November, so maybe it doesn't need any Christmas filtering into it.

Thread title's quite self explanatory though? Maybe just don't click on it?
Came in just to respond to it. Maybe have a go at Halloween first?

I noticed my car radio had Heart Xmas next to the usual Heart station, won't be listening to that in October (or at all!)

Sadly Halloween doesn't get me three weeks off work.....if it did you'd probably see a "Get excited about Halloween" thread from me in August wink

I heard it was 12 weeks yesterday.

I'm actually looking forward to it this year, 10 days off work and a few days at my parents' house eating all their food.

First year in the new house. Parents will be coming over to us. First christmas I’ve had off in probably 7 years so have the 10 days off.

As Mrs geeks and I both share a birthday in early November we have a strict "No Christmas talk before our birthdays" rule that the families both adhere to. the cake is however the exception to the rule and I shall be baking ours this weekend smile

Everything being off shored to India, and I'm being made redundant 12/12 frown Only been there 18 months, but getting a surprisingly large payoff, so it can't come too soon smile It has been a long and very boring 6 months notice period.

Having a break from working, and a week after off to Santo Antao in Cape Verde for Christmas, to get some winter sun.

I usually have Xmas off up until the kids go back school in January, so usually a good 16 days off give or take a couple of days, however last year I “only” booked off the Xmas week as I needed to save some leave for this year.

Won’t be needing to save this time around so usual service resumed biggrin

Definitely my favourite time of year, I have a tradition every Christmas Eve of watching home alone 1 + 2 with the kids, then die hard 1 whilst I attempt to wrap the mrs’s presents

I’m in the doghouse
Wife had been looking at a new Balsam Hill Plastic tree at vast expense.
I told her I saw a news report, their factory had burned down…
Took a few days, she looked it up, found I was lying.
I’ll pay for that!

We make sure we watch both Home Alone films, Die Hard and Die Hard 2 during December, with Love Actually our Christmas Eve tradition.

Also need to watch this for the first time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violent_Night

Fair play, good luck and enjoy the break.

I was encouraged to resign a couple of weeks before Xmas back in 2016 by the worst boss I ever had. I had nothing to go to. Was terrifying and exciting at the same time. Turned out he did me a huge favour.
