Interesting to note that International Women's Day appears to always fall on a weekday when all our diversity and inclusion obsessed workplaces can hype it up and make sure everyone knows about it, but International Men's Day is on a Sunday when noone gives a toss. scratchchin

Spot on, I would say your average woman is more valued in society than the 99.999999% of men who are not running the world and are largely anonymous to everyone.

They are already trying to eliminate us from the media by pushing the message that everyone in society is trans, gay or in a mixed race relationship. Just think how often a white, middle aged man is portrayed in an advert other than as an object of ridicule.

Plus as a man there is nobody to bail you out and provide a house and financial support to allow you to stay at home all day.

I say damn right we need an International Men's Day, it is just a shame that the media want to keep it quiet.

Suicide rates are much higher in men than in woman and women don't get sent to fight in wars.
This is a parody, right??? eek
Noe.

Honestly nobody understands repression like the middle aged white man does hehe

That comparison doesn't stand up to scrutiny though as it makes sense to have Mother's Day on a Sunday when you're able to pamper your mother because you're not at work.

What a childish response to a pretty decent counterpoint to your original comment.

The idea that men are an oppressed group who are disadvantaged because their 'day' falls on a Sunday is frankly ludicrous.
Better for you dear?

Its also..

World toilet day
National play monopoly day
World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

Tommorow we shall celebrate and remember

Universal childrens day
Africa Industrialisation day
Transgender day of rememberence

Cant see the point myself, but whatever your beliefs or thoughts, there is a day you can align yourself with

Quite.

Thing is there's an International Mens Day that's great.

Now who here has done a damned thing to mark it or take part in it?

I wonder if in between all the whining and bleating it's possible that women tend to get a bit more involved which might be one of the reasons International Womens Day is more of a thing?

We don't really need a day to celebrate being wholly superior though...seems a bit wrong?

Probably about right. Nobody is arsed with International Men's Day, because men can't be arsed with it.

Our company sent an email on Friday about it. Hilarious considering some of the gas lighting the management conduct at times.

We also got an invite recently to a Menopause clinic so they really are covering all bases

Most of this crap is Virtue Signalling at best

I'm sure this is a joke. It's got to be, right? I mean, one year in seven, the 19th is a Sunday. And everyone knows that.

But this is PH, though.

I'm fairly sure this is a joke. If so, it's quite a good one.

I mean I don't agree with everything on here. But men are the worst "oppressors" in history

Lose out financially in divorce
Lose out in terms of custody in divorce
Higher suicide rates than Women
Women are outperforming Men in education consistently.
Men die earlier than Women
Not many Women end up on the front line in warzones.
Men are expected to pay the bill
Men are more often falsely accused of serious crimes
The pervading narrative of "toxic masculinity"

(Yes, I know not all of these are every single time )

How you solve those I dont know

I get similar all the time, on Friday I also got a "Becoming a Trans Ally to Go Beyond the Binary" online meeting invitation. The topics covered were

"Key terminology related to gender identity and expressions"
"Expansive pronouns and how to use them"
"Skills you need to be allies to people who are trans"

No email about "International Men's Day" though surprise, surprise.

This is what passes for Pop music these days.

The double standards are mind boggling.

I know people like that! laugh I try very, very hard not to have anything to do with them mind. In fairness the groping, heavy drinking, drug and misogyny crowd are good examples of male toxicity. But ime most men are nothing like that. Doesn't stop certain demographics from screaming that all men are though.

Curious artiste though. The play on Bob Dylans name screams insecurity, and the song just feels like a massive virtue signal. And I'm always interested to learn, at some later date, that a guy who claims to be a women's advocate and against toxic behaviour tend to have some whacking great skeletons in their closet
