If she really wants Tiffany, then get her Tiffany, I'm not a fan as you get an awful lot more for your money else where, but some women are devoted to the packaging.

Thanks, I'll take a look.

Anyone have an opinion on

Depends on your mrs.....mine only likes stuff if it comes in a Tiffany box, she knows there cheaper options/better value but that thats what she likes (and actually, there is sense in it....buying online from bluenile to get "great value" is all well and good but it's hardly got romance written all over it the way Tiffany has (rightly or wrongly) We also bought our wedding rings from Tiffany 5th Ave, NY, years ago so it has personal history.

Anyway - my 10 year anniversary on Monday and I've got what could (on paper) be had from an online retailer for 1-2k (but it's cost me double that from Tiffany......but she'll love it more than twice as much.

End of the day... jewellery can be certified and classified and rated all you like, to most women it means more than what it says on the paperwork.

I see what your saying. She would probably see the Tiffany box and be led by the brand name rather than the product (as she is no expert in diamonds)

Thanks for that. It does make a lot of sense (wrongly). To be honest, i was very surprised there was anything on the Tiffany product list in the price bracket i am willing to pay. Which suggests i have been duped by the brand as anyone would if you don't know about the products.

Very helpful comments on here, thank you.

DOnt think you are getting junk though...£1k earings from Tiffany are not the same as you'll pickup from Argos!

Worst "I've got £1k to spend on Diamonds for the missus" thread ever.
Strange comment for a web forum where many people own Ferrari's, Lambo's, Aston's Porsche's , etc etc
Four bd unnecessary apostrophes in a row! That has to be a record!
Try not taking things that don't matter much as seriously as you clearly do.

Quite.

The Tiffany website doesn't state the diamond spec, but I paid less than that for a pair of identical carat weight, EGA certified D-Flawless earrings from Gordon Marks in Cobham.

Also don't buy anything from the Tiffany online store. Images are heavily retouched and the finish of the actual jewellery is nowhere near.

They do lots of "cheaper" stuff....once you have her hooked on the little blue box you'll find they do plenty of bits that make nice xmas presents/etc to a Tiffany addict. There "other stuff" section has loads of stuff under £100. In fact, along with the stuff I bought today I got a £15 mug in Tiffany colours with the bow, etc for the kids to give her at xmas. Is it a cheap mug, no.....but she'll love it.

Jewelry is such a personal thing, we have the Cartier Love rings as our wedding rings, hugely overpriced if you view it just for it's weight in Platinum, but the story behind it, and going to Paris to buy them was priceless.

Most of my other pieces are bespoke, the fact my husband has taken the time to sit down with a jeweler and design something and choose the diamonds, leaving me with a piece that is unique to me, means far more than the actual value.
