Why do women get so pissed off when they're called 'Poppet'? It's almost like a trigger word to send them into a banshee like rage hehe
Poppets are also used as kitchen witch figures.
So THATS why she gets really pissed off when i call her that in the kitchen
Buy her a cauldron for cooking, you'll be justified in your language use then biggrin

Oh. So. It's probably not right, or liked, that my children say this to their Dad's new partner then?

Good.

"She was not happy with the saucepan set for Christmas, hopefully she'll like the six-pack of washing up liquid"

You did her a favour really. At some point over the hols she was going to get mad anyway, but it was helpful of you to give her a reason, rather than let her struggle to find one. So you were thinking of her. Pity she didn't appreciate that. biggrin

I find that, for maximum effect, you should say "there there poppet" whilst patting them on the backside and winking yes.

Mine took the right arse ache the other day. I calmed her by saying (albeit loudly) "Stop screaming like a fking banshee"

Which didn't seem to help.
