'Ask' or 'Arks'

When I was growing up in Tottenham in the 1970s, it was only Jamaican kids, or kids of Jamaican extraction, who said 'arks'. By the 80s white kids in the area had adopted it, and I noticed the first evidence of that accent - white kids trying to sound black but actually just sounding thick. You know the one I mean. I now notice it in all sorts of places that have never had a large ethnic minority community. So where do they get it from?

A young white girl in one of the company offices I do some work for talks like 'dis' all the time. She also does all the silly hand gestures and stands with her hip stuck out 'all sassy like'.
She's as fick as f
k as well.
She also talks constant, hardcore filth to all the 'fit blokes' in the office, then when one poor little twerp who she obviously didn't fancy made a very mild sexual joke to somebody else in front of her she took out a grievance for sexual harassment.
It was thrown out after a 6 month inquiry which nearly finished off said twerp but no action whatsoever was taken against her.
She's still exactly the same.
I digress I know but you get the picture.

Because they have watched lots of American tv and like to think they can slip such words into conversation and thus people will be quietly impressed with their discrete and understated gang-like connections.......It boils my piss!
