Signed. I was in a not too dissimilar position when I was 24 with cancer (non-hodgkins lymphoma). I needed Rituximab but it wasn't allowed by NICE. Fortunately for me my consultant's attitude was 'screw those guys, you can have it anyway'. What a champion, and i never saw him again so never go a chance to thank him.

Sounds like a top consultant! I hope it is all still working out ok smile. The drug Regorafenib was not passed through NICE either simply because the patient numbers are so few.. Flawed logic!

After several years in remission i was finally discharged late last year thanks. I've listened to a woman on the radio since, talking about how she wasn't being allowed it and she felt it was endangering her life. It was awful to listen to and made me feel very fortunate. I can't imagine how it must feel for those affected and their family. The OP has my sympathies big time, poor bloke frown
