Ditch the app and use a browser pointing to https://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr - makes things a lot more chronological and you don't get some random post you read, but didn't interact with, nearly a year ago popping up in your feed every time you refresh it.
Thanks for that. I only use FB in a browser, and also get fed up with the same thing.

A tour of a certain band has been postponed due to Covid, it was announced yesterday. Now it seems that every time someone gets an email from their ticket provider, they see a need to screenshot it and post it in the group, as if for further validation that the tour is postponed, even though the official band FB has posted the new tour poster so we all know it's real.

If we're gong to be doing puns, at least try and push the envelope

It's not as refined when it comes to the interface of course but it makes things a lot more sensible.
I just tried this & sadly it doesn't work for me. As soon as I navigate to a group the sort is back to Top Posts & stays that way if I return to my home page as well.

By the way anyone know if / how I can set it to always show latest posts? Hate facebook. It keeps serving up recommended posts etc so it jumps about all over the fking place
If you are using a PC, then use FBPurity. You can then select 'latest posts' and that choice will remain.

Unfortunately, FBPurity is not (yet?) available for Android.

I fit right in hehe

No seriously I tried it for a week and deleted it.

Bookmark your group and change the url to this ( using the Group's unique number of course)

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1234567890/?sorting_setting=CHRONOLOGICAL

There's no way to keep everything Chronological wihtout telling it in the URLs.

eta after a quick google:

try the fbpurity addon.....

Can we have these tedious pun posts stamped out please? They may be amusing, but the delivery is awful.
