Do you think it would take a 17 inch laptop and other work detritus? biggrin
Not quite, I had another few Amazon deliveries today and it’s full with two packets of razors & 6 pairs of socks. It’s a ridiculous thing but I will use it everywhere instead of filling my pockets with torches and vape stuff

I have 2 small 'cord' operated winches, capable of lifting about 250Kg (sufficient for my needs) and a winch block and tackle that just needs a rope - but I felt the need to buy this: a 20CWT (about 1 ton) chain winch lift.
Prior to purchase:

It has now been (relatively) stripped, wire brushed, all old gunk removed and given a good wipe over and now looks like this:

Currently hanging from a roof joist in my garage where it will probably 'rest' for a while...

Did you buy it from Spongebob? It looks like it's been at the bottom of the sea.

It NEEDS to. Can you imagine going into an important meeting with your laptop in that? You'd either score massive points or be escorted off the premises.
I have a massive Hulk comic book poster/print thing on my wall behind me, signed by Stan Lee and Lou Ferrigno. When we are on camera as I don't blur it's fully visible. Usually goes down really well and breaks the ice if it's a new client.
I'm in IT (obviously) other industries might not have the same impact.

I think it might have been stored in a puddle prior to my ownership! Works a treat, mechanism was well greased so the insides were not rusty at all, just the chain and outside elements.

I wonder, is it a sign of old age that I'm not that bothered about buying 'stuff' anymore? I find myself wondering how much use of it I would get. This extends to cars too god forbid.

I'm thinking of maybe doing some cruising instead, at least then I will have enjoyed the benefit at one go.

Entirely frivolous as we already had a Halfords one that sort of did the job - but this has a patio attachment and more POWER.

Given how quickly it washed out decking compared to the old one, I can confirm the existence of lots more power.

That could well be Rufus' response to first time use of Grindr

I bet I never get round to fitting these to my defender, but they were such a thing or beauty I had to have them!

Door hinges? Agreed, those are very nicely made.

It looks like those ones can be removed with a flathead screwdriver.
