Eeerm people collect a lot of things. Stamps, model cars etc. I pretty sure they don't all use them or play with them. Try to broaden you views a little and appriciate what others are into. Blown2CV said:
You asked whether you should wear them, and I said what would you do apart from wear them. The premise being I don't understand the alternative. Help me out a bit, otherwise as far as I'm concerned you've just spent hundreds of pounds on shoes you'll never wear?
He collects them, If he doesn't wear them he keeps them in pristine condition as part of a collection. el stovey said:

...i don't really get it.
Why do you have to "get" it? Why not just accept that not everyone is going to be into the same things as you, and won't have the same tastes as you.Frankly, if more people accepted the above concepts, the world would be a better place.
At one end of the scale we've got people like you pointing at someone's taste in footwear or questioning their hobby and at the other end of the scale we've got people blowing each other up because of their differing beliefs.

No different to collecting china ornaments, books, model railway locos, Dinky toys or stamps really. They theoretically have a purpose, but the real purpose is just collecting.
But people who collect them items have them on display. I somehow managed to collect 30-40 mugs but they are all displayed on a shelf the satisfaction is that they each have a story as to how I've acquired it. But I can look up and see them.
If the item is packed away and stored then I can see why he doesn't get it because I don't get it either.
People who collect stamps / coins / autographs / copies of Autocar since 1895 don't usually have their collections on display, so that's not unusual.
Back on the original subject, my brown leather boots are still giving off a wax "haze" less than 24 hours after buffing them. I guess this is something to do with the ageing / patination effect, but its a pain having to buff them every day. On the assumption that they have had too much wax impregnated during manufacture, should I just wipe it off instead?

Yesterday I bought a pair of Loake's for work (brogue style in black). I'm wearing them today for the first time.
However, whilst they are quite comfortable (they are going to need a bit of "wearing in") they make a strange noise when I walk in them. Hopefully that'll disappear in a few weeks as i'm getting some funny looks around the office.

Pretty tempted by these for driving - I love the Puma Motorsport Suede series, but some of the new designs are either horrible, or Ferrari branded. However as a 28 year old, I'm concerned I might look a bit stupid if I pop into the local supermarket with the below ... What do you think? Any other suede driving (thin soles, narrow) shoes worth considering before I hit 'buy'?

I like those. I have a pair of Piloti Tamburellos like these...They are pretty good to be fair but the soles are not as thin as the sparcos which with my pedal box (Z4M) is not so much of an issue. The Pilotis do look less "driving enthusiast" than the sparcos however, I wouldn't be too bothered what other people thought.
