Sainsburys are owned by Home Retail Group who also own Argos, Habitat and Homebase, I think Argos and Homebase also sell fireworks, not really sure what that means but pretty sure its a publicity stunt in one shape or another.
Nope.

Home Retail Group (who owned Argos, Habitat and Homebase) flogged off Homebase to Wesfarmers in order to make themselves more attractive as a takeover target for Sainsburys. So it is Sainsburys who now own Argos and Habitat, not the other way round.

Wesfarmers attempted to rebrand Homebase as Bunnings and massively screwed the UK operation up, resulting in them offloading Homebase to Hilco.

I’m not on Facebook, but my wife advised me that a sheep had been found nearby which had been killed and butchered in situ.

I’ll be steering clear of takeaway Lamb Rogan Josh for the next few weeks.
Night time field butchery of sheep and lambs is currently fairly commonplace in Northamptonshire.
Sounds like ram raiders.

One from a few weeks ago when we had all that rain
"there are cows in the field, why isn't the farmer doing anything about it? I have called RSPCA, Police and Fire Brigade, none are interested, they are drenched"

Apparently my answer of "they're cows and that's where they live" was completely wrong and I know nothing about farming, for the record no cows died and they carried on as they have done every time it rained.

Ah, my mistake, I thought I had read HRG bought HB back when Bunnings sold it off, gutted really, I loved our local Bunnings!

Woman on our local fb page complaining that the posters she put up yesterday have all been taken down overnight. The fact we had winds here strong enough to blow down trees seems to have passed her by.

We have a big dairy field near where we live

Wife often reads me complaints about the mooing (think it’s when they take their babies away)

The same people will also be cross when plans to build on the same fields are released

I was recently a shown a CV by a friend who was recruiting for an office manager to look after a team of 10 credit controllers, so a fairly demanding position.

It was from a "full-time mummy" (this was actually listed as her current position on her CV) who suggested that her Facebook page administrator experience made her the perfect candidate for the role....
So your friend who is responsible for company recruitment is sharing a CV of an applicant with someone outside of the company without their consent for no valid reason and it's the applicant who we are laughing at?

This evening, i came across a post from one of the group 'matriarchs' demanding their express permission before setting off fireworks, as it upsets their foster dog. Was a serious post too, not the pisstake that i had been expecting.

Fair enough, we know the issues with pets and fireworks - but suggesting that everyone needed to ask permission before undertaking a completely legitimate activity seemed a bit OTT to me

Ah they are out in force today.

‘What are those loud bangs?’

Well. I’ll take a guess that because they came with flashes and brightly coloured lights that they are fireworks.

Shouldn’t be allowed until Nov 5..
But it’s diwali
How am I supposed to know that? It isn’t English.
Blah blah someone posts a picture of their dog having a breakdown. No sign of her comforting the mutt. Oh no. Must post on Facebook.

Sweet Jesus.

Earlier this year, a woman posted on our local FB group about how it was "discusting" that someone had left their blind horse in a local field to fend for itself: How is it mean't to find food/water, what if it walks into the pond in the field and drowns itself.... Asking for RSPCA phone numbers, should I call the police etc etc

Turned out the horse in question had been fitted with a fly-mask similar to this:

She actually thought this was the equine version of a blind person's dark glasses FFS.

Set up a fake account asking that stting dogs, barking dogs and running dogs all seek permission before being operated

Then a follow up to people with motorbikes

And perhaps one about bloody foreigners as well

You’ve been missing out

PH won’t let me upload photos for some reason so here’s a copy of a post that went up on our local page this morning:

“I’m really angry that a neighbour thinks it’s ok to steal stones from our front garden she’s like a thief in the night & lives opposite me she’s been doing it for a couple of years now at first I thought the stones were just sinking into the garden but then realised that’s not the case because we put down a ground cover to stop the weeds so again we’ve topped it up only to find she’s at it again leaving big dips in the garden to add insult she’s using them on the small bit outside her front door”
