Does this count for moving lots of slabs and blocks?
Only if you'd bought it to carry the shopping from the car to the house!

Sounds to me like you've bought that knowing you had exactly the right job ready for it!

That sounds like one hell of a shopping trip. I hope you have plenty of plenty of freezer space. smile

Is that one of those "writes upside down/in zero g" pens then?

Although don't ever break the nib off one of them. It gets... messy. And the ink is hell to get off your fingers too - I had to use acetone in the end.

Probably not far from the truth actually. It was quite scary how fast it came out and how it just kept coming. (Oooh, Matron hehe)

Just picked up one of these:

http://www.trekstor.de/detail-surftabs-de/product/...

Its a full blown windows 10 computer, quad-core x86 CPU (Intel Atom) 1GB RAM, 16GB storage + SDHC slot. Cost me a grand total of €39!

I have been ogling this thing for a few weeks, but now they finally had a display unit up allowing me to dick around with it for 5 mins and gauge the performance/potential before buying a total dud.

Should be good enough for pre 2005 games, which are often peanuts on steam (and i have a few already), and just general dicking about.

Indeed, doesnt cost jack st, and the entertainment/tinkering potential is quite high!

Worst case, it gets passed down to one of the kids as a netflix machine

I made the mistake of buying an HP Stream 7 Windows tablet a year or two ago, for much the same reason - that you were getting a full Windows PC for £70-odd, with a year of Office 365 thrown in too. I've never used it and in fact am right now doing a Factory Reset on it ready to put it up on eBay on the grounds that the deadline for the free upgrade to Windows 10 is looming and it would be best to shift it now whilst the next owner has an upgrade choice.

The specs of mine are pretty much identical to the HP Stream 7, except for the 1024*600 screen

I know chances are ill play with it for a few days then toss it aside, but im kind of OK with that, given the price. I can always just put it on in-bed netflix duty or similar, considering i dont have another tablet yet. Might be good for occasional entertainment on public transport as well.

I'm not into coins, or particularly aircraft. But hey, it will be looked at once then put in a drawer forever.

I already have a pair of decent OE headphones (grado sr125s), and a pair of half decent IE buds too (sennheiser cx500). But I want to listen to OE headphones in the office whilst CADing away. My grados leak too much sound for that, and occasionally it gets noisy, especially if someone's got some machinery going in the workshop next door....

So I've just ordered a pair of these AKG N60nc active noise cancelling headphones. Generally had much better reviews than the Bose/any other competitors variants. And a bargain on secret sales at the moment!

You'll probably need to create an account, but they're £150
